UK MP's Report Slams 'Marketing-Led' Medicine

Parliamentary Report Calls for Pharma Reforms

A report by MP's of the House of Commons Select Health Committee has called for reforms to counter a pharmaceutical industry intent on creating a "pill for every ill" society.

According to the multiparty committee of MP's, the Department of Health "seems unable to prioritize the interests of patients and public health over the interests of the pharmaceutical industry."

The MP's say that this is the first major select committee inquiry into the pharmaceutical industry since the Select Committee on Patent Medicines which reported in August 1914.... [more]
