Insurgents Capture US General --Beat, Suffocate to Death

A U.S. military spokesperson has condemned Iraqi insurgents as "barbaric thugs," after the scarred body of a senior U.S. military officer was discovered today in a house in Baghdad.

The apparently badly beaten remains are those of Maj. Gen. Geoffrey R. Wilkinson, Columbus, Oh. of the 18th Airborne Division, who disappeared with two other soldiers four days ago in Baghdad.

The two soldiers captured with him are now free after a routine house search patrol in the city caused the insurgents to abandon their captives and flee. According to the soldiers accounts, Maj. Gen. Wilkinson was badly beaten over a number of days, before being asphyxiated, as insurgents attempted to elicit from him details of U.S. security structures, operational plans and procedures.


BARBARIC THUGS

The three had become separated from fellow members of a patrol over the weekend, after being lured into a courtyard by the apparent sight of an Iraqi woman caught in a distressing childbirth. They were quickly overpowered by around a dozen insurgents who sprang from hiding places. Under a news blackout, search parties had been scouring the north-west of the city for days before an unrelated routine patrol scared off their captors.

"We utterly condemn the brutal actions of the barbaric thugs who murdered Maj. Gen. Wilkinson," US military spokesman Tim Keefe said in the capital, Baghdad. "They respect neither human dignity nor any civilized code of wartime military conduct. A loyal officer had been killed in cold blood by mere low criminals."

The U.S. military say a preliminary examination revealed many large bruises all over general's body and at least five broken ribs, which would have been painful and would have made walking and even breathing very difficult. Marks consistent with cords were found on his wrists, ankles and around the neck. A formal autopsy had yet to determine cause of death, but the accounts of the soldiers indicate the general was suffocated during the course of his last interrogation by insurgents.


HUNG OFF ROOF

The two soldiers recounted the harrowing details of their incarceration to journalists in a briefing held in the fortified Green Zone earlier today. Both were physically assaulted a number of times during their captivity, but neither was badly injured. They were held in the same room as the general at many times, but they say the insurgents had focused their attention of the senior officer.

"They would come in and hold Maj. Wilkinson down while two or three of them beat him about the body," Staff Sgt. Dennis Smith told reporters. "It would last a few minutes and they would return a few hours later and do it again. "I think it was the second or third day he said to me he thought they were going to kill him," Smith said.

"He was naturally quite scared," he said. "I could see the fear in his eyes. They had taken him up on the roof earlier and he told me they hung him over the edge and threatened to drop him off."

"They put him through a living hell," said Smith, who had to pause a number of times during the briefing, distraught and unable to continue.

The other soldier held with Maj. Gen Wilkinson, Spc. Peter Scott confirmed the grueling ordeal of the captured officer.

"They took him into another room for the serious beatings," he said. "I could hear his screams and thuds, then silence."

"He told me they had tied him up and put a sack over his head", said Scott. "Then two or three of them would sit on him and they would cover his mouth so he could not breathe."

"When the patrol found us, we discovered him like that in the next room." Scott said. "He was dead. I can't imagine what it must be like for him, or for his family now. My heart goes out to them. The way he died will haunt them forever. Nobody deserves to die like that"


JUSTICE UNLIKELY

US forces are still engaged in house to house enquiries in the area where the three were held, in an effort to track down or identify the captors. They fled just minutes before the patrol arrived at the three-storied house where the U.S. general meet his death. But so far their enquiries have been fruitless.

"It's very unlikely that the people who carried out these inhuman acts will ever be brought to justice", admitted US military spokesman Tim Keefe. "But we are leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to find them and make them fully accountable for their brutality."

A White House spokesperson reiterated that commitment, but declined to elaborate in detail.

"Out of respect for the family of the deceased we will not be commenting at length, said Scott McClellan. "But, I think that the facts in this case speak volumes about what is really going on in Iraq and why we will be there for quite some time to come."

The purpose of writing the above article was to enable us to view the actions of the U.S. military in Iraq without judging them through the cultural lens of our own bias. I hope it makes clear the barbarity of U.S. policies --which are not excused in any way by the actions of "enemy" forces. The same logic applies as aplied to inhuman acts by any of the participants in World War II.

I hope this also makes clear why such acts --which sow the seeds of a longer conflict costing needless lives lost on both sides-- are in truth ultimately counterproductive and represent a failure of military and civilian command.

'Black Ops' Implicated in Jill Carroll Kidnapping

There are clear signs that the kidnapping of the still-missing American journalist, Jill Carroll was a political act closely tied to U.S. interests relating to the Sunni opposition in Iraq.

The 28-year-old freelancer for The Christian Science Monitor was ambushed by gunmen in Baghdad last Saturday morning. Her Iraqi interpreter, who carried press ID was killed during the incident. No group has claimed responsibility.

On the face of it just another of Iraq's many kidnappings. But when we examine the timing, location and events subsequent to the abduction, they point to collusion involving the U.S. --or worse still, an American-inspired 'Black Ops' gambit.

The very day Jill Carroll was taken, President Jalal Talabani said that Iraq's political groups could form a coalition government within weeks. Forming a government including Sunnis is a key American goal because it could rob the resistance of political support. But the Association of Muslim Scholars(AMS), which is the intellectual backbone of the Iraqi resistance, is a significant impediment to the formation of such a government.

The following day, Sunday morning, before dawn and ahead of a meeting between Talibani and Adnan al-Dulaimi, the leader of the largely Sunni Iraqi Accordance Front, U.S. troops raided the Umm al-Qora mosque complex, headquarters of the AMS. They used explosive charges used to blow out door locks, smashed windows, arrested half a dozen people and ransacked offices.

Later that Sunday, following that high-level meting with President Talibani, al-Dulaimi said significant progress had been made in their efforts to form a government of national unity. "Talabani and I have an identical point of view regarding the formation of a national unity government based on consensus,'' al-Dulaimi said.

To one AMS suporter, the motivation for the raid was clear.

"This crime came as punishment for the association's position on the occupation and its position on the latest elections," said Sheik Younis al-Ekaidi.

But the U.S. military told Agence France Presse that the raid was linked to the hunt for Jill Carroll.

Lt. Col. Barry Johnson, a U.S. military spokesman, said the raid was ordered "as a direct result of a tip by an Iraqi civilian that activities related to the kidnapping were being carried out inside the mosque."

However, giving the lie to this U.S. claim, as Aljazeera reported, on the same Sunday morning U.S. and Iraqi forces raided villages in Abu Ghraib area west of Baghdad. The villages are the home of the Zowba tribe to which Shaikh Harith al-Dhari, who heads the Association of Muslim Scholars belongs.

The AMS have always been a significant player in Iraqi resistance politics, and a thorn in the side of U.S ambitions in Iraq. BreakForNews.com was the only Western media outlet to report that in January, 2004 then US ambassador to Iraq, John Negroponte met with AMS leader Dr. Al-Dhari, to discuss Iraqi security and the upcoming elections to which the AMS was opposed. The account of their meeting was carried in an interview with Al-Dhari by Mohamed Al-Anwar, published in the Jan 20-26 edition of Cairo's Al-Ahram.

Al-Dhari said the meeting had been arranged through French diplomats at Negroponte's request. He confirmed that his group offered to reverse its position on the election, once given a timetable for an American forces withdrawal.

That meeting is a sign of the pivotal role of the AMS, and opens up another possibile motivation for last Sunday's U.S. raids. That they were part of a 'carrot and stick' strategy to pressure al-Dhari and the AMS, while simultaneously hacking a deal with al-Dulaimi's wing of Sunni political expression.

And that the claimed search for Jill Carroll was the convenient pretext on which to raid the mosque.

Which raises the question of who exactly abducted the reporter, with such exquisite political timing.


THE PERFECT AMBUSH

The kidnapping of Jill Carroll took place within yards of the office of Adnan al-Dulaimi, whom Carroll had been scheduled to interview at 10 a.m. Saturday, according to her driver.

Mr. al-Dulaimi, however, never showed up for the interview. After 25 minutes, Carroll and her interpreter left. They were waylaid as they drove away from his offices.

"It was very obvious this was by design," said the driver. "The whole operation took no more than a quarter of a minute. It was very highly organized. It was a setup, a perfect ambush."

One kidnapper pulled the driver from the car, jumped in, and drove away with others crammed into the rear of the vehicle around Carroll and her interpreter. "They didn't give me any time to even put the car in neutral," the driver said.

The body of the interpreter, Allan Enwiyah, 32, was later found in the same neighborhood. He had been shot twice in the head. He was discovered by one of the guards stationed outside Dulaimi's office, who told AFP he heard nearby gunshots and rushed to find the body.

Media reports say Jill Carroll's car was stopped about 300 yards from al-Dulaimi's office. But the Washington Post is likely more correct to put the distance at a few hundred feet. The driver said he hadn't gone far enough to shift the car beyond third gear, and that he initially thought the men were guards clearing the route for a convoy going to or from the office of al-Dulaimi.

So what if the kidnappers were indeed connected to al-Dulaimi?

AFP reports that al-Dulaimi himself told the agency he had no appointment to meet a Western journalist. But who better to arrange the false meeting which lured the journalist to the site of the kidnapping than some al-Dulaimi staffer? And once in the web, she would never leave the environs of al-Dulaimi's offices.

Of course, one could argue that all this may have been an idea concocted by al-Dulaimi or his associates. And that the alleged tipoff to U.S. foces which led to the raid on the AMS headquarters was another ploy by the same elements.

But, U.S. commanders are unlikely to be so dumb as to fall for a transparent smear, and then mount a high-profile raid on the politically-sensitive AMS mosque --all without realizing they were being made dance to someone else's political tune.

Plus there is the matter of the simultaneous U.S. raid on the AMS leader's home village.

It looks like either the U.S. was willingly used, or because it suited their agenda anyway, that more likely some Black Ops element of U.S. forces were in on the upcoming abduction from the start.

Either way, it doesn't look good for Jill Carroll, who has been kidnapped in the same part of Baghdad where Margaret Hassan, an aid official, was abducted in 2004. Hassan has never been released and is believed killed by her abductors. A great friend to ordinary Iraqis, Hassan's abduction has been tainted by similar suspicions about U.S. Black Ops involvement.

It's not a good omen.


A VERY HUMAN REPORTER

Jill Carroll herself authored two articles for the Christian Science Monitor in April of last year, which are tragically ironic in retrospect.

One entitled "Iraq's rising industry: domestic kidnapping" was about the discovery of the bodies of 50 alleged kidnapping victims in the Tigris River.

She quoted one victim of a kidnapping by extremist Sunnis, who told her: "I could never imagine some day I will face such a tragedy."

They are words she might well use herself today -if she is still alive.

She also wrote an article about Californian Marla Ruzicka, the head of an NGO who died with her Iraqi driver when their car was caught between a suicide car bomber and a US military convoy. In the article she revealed personal feelings which belie the image of a hard-nosed journalist oblivious to danger:

"One of my favorite memories of her was when I was sitting in the middle of the Palestine Hotel lobby in Baghdad, surrounded by a confusing swirl of soldiers, officials, and reporters. Fear swept over me. What was I doing here? I had come as a freelancer, with no experience covering a war. Just as I was quietly freaking out, Marla appeared in the dusty, harried scene. She was the picture of calm in a perfect French braid and long blue dress. She was like a breeze blowing through, so tranquil, so clean.

Later in the fall of 2003 when I moved here and was despairing of my sputtering freelance work she would always say, "Jill, good for you. You're working so hard. I'm so proud of you."...

My friend Scott... said no one had heard from Marla since about 2 o'clock that afternoon. The other journalists and I all feared a kidnapping. Then we got a call from the US military saying a woman fitting her description had been in an accident, ....they said the woman was dead on arrival.

The only thing we can say now is at least she died doing what she wanted, doing what she really, really believed in."

"All I ever wanted to be was a foreign correspondent," Carroll wrote last year in the American Journalism Review. She too was doing what she wanted.

I never knew her. But as a journalist I can only echo Marla's words to her:

"Jill, good for you. You're working so hard. I'm so proud of you."

Sharon's Hospital Exit Photo Was Faked

Take a good look at the news photo of Ariel Sharon allegedly leaving hospital on the 20th December, 2005 --after a mild stroke. According to most sources Sharon is 5’7” tall and weighs 255 lbs.

Compare the official photo and our edit showing the Prime Minister at his actual height. Looks like the photoshop boys inserted a much too tall Sharon into the official picture.

In other words --it's a FAKE!

As if you couldn't figure that out anyway from that single lonely microphone held out. The original photo before fakery showed only an open door and the hospital sign. The background inside the door was darkened, then Sharon and the news mike were added.

Compare the photo of Sharon exiting the hospital with a photo of the Hadassah hospital Director Shlomo Mor-Yosef --standing before the same type of sign.

Now check Mor-Yosef in another photo, beside someone of around Sharon's height.

Work out the photo angles for yourself.

No matter which way you compute it --Sharon is clearly way too tall in the official photo. Which throws doubt over not only that photo, but other photos showing Sharon supposedly working away after that first stroke on December 18th, 2005.

Has Ariel Sharon Been Dead Since December, 2005?

UPDATE Monday 9th Jan: Doctors now claim that Sharon is breathing unaided and responding to pain stimuli, but as the Sharon stroke saga continues, it seems to be driven more by politics than medicine. The politics are transparent if you read between the lines of this Reuters report:

"The death or incapacity of Sharon..., would create a void in Israeli politics... Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, also Israel's finance minister, projected a message of business as usual.... World leaders have pledged support for Olmert as he stands in for Sharon. Doctors plan to begin rousing Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from a medically induced coma on Monday...

"We are all impressed by how strong he is and how much he is fighting," said Hadassah neurosurgeon Jose Cohen. "He is just a real warrior, it is his nature."

That last comment is not a medical statement --it's a political spin. But, brain dead or vegetative -was Sharon first incapacitated in December? -Fintan

Ariel Sharon may already be clinically dead for weeks --ever since his first reported stroke on December, 18th, 2005.

Having reviewed a number of fishy circumstances around the "sudden" second brain injury allegedly just suffered by the Israeli prime minister, I am unable to eliminate that this is exactly what has happened.

Even as the "Israeli Insider" reports that Sharon is brain dead from the second collapse [6], I have been examining the possibility that international governments have hushed up the December, 2005 incapication of Sharon to buy themselves time, also to ease the shock to the Israeli people and to smooth the political transition.

Here's what may well have happened. Sharon suffered a massive stroke on Sunday 18th December. He was rushed to hospital, where in a serious condition he was within hours judged likely to be all but brain-dead. Stories of his conversations with two reporters were immediately planted in two Israeli newspapers --as a holding action.

High level contacts were made with the U.S. government and likely some others. It was determined that having Sharon suddenly die would be an unacceptable risk to the management of Israeli public opinion. Furthermore, having him die at the year end --heading into a festive season in Israel and around the world, would create an unacceptable political vaccum. Yet the same festive season would also enable his death to be kept quiet for weeks. Enough time to prepare politically behind the scenes.

Sharon had just launched the Kadima party. Elements of the so-called 'international community' would have been foursquare behind this move to isolate the Israeli political right now opposing the peace process. The prospect of the right --unnerved by the death of Sharon-- becoming newly resurgent before the Kadima party could even get off the ground, would have been in their eyes an unacceptable outcome.

Wheras by managing the "death", Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert could buy time in which to look "leader-like," and time to salvage the Kadima project.

COVERUP PLAN

Assuming this scenario, the following happened:

On the basis of "national security" key Israeli newspapers were recruited to the plan to conceal his brain death. A whole series of stories were floated over the following weeks to show a prime minister, resting and/or buzy with the business of setting up his new party. In truth, Sharon was now being kept alive on a respirator.

The story of Sharon being prescribed the blood-thinner Heparin was invented to give credence to "second" stroke which would be announced in the New Year. In actual medical practice, doctors prescribing Heparin at a dosage likely to be dangerous would have insisted on close monitoring in hospital.

On the basis that doctors had asked Sharon to shorten his work hours and rest, meetings were canceled and the lack of public appearances were easily explained away. A deception campaign showed Sharon in photographs apparently in his office, and at cabinet meetings.

Then, just hours before his scheduled "second" collapse, a damaging news story on police inquiries into a $3 million briibery scandal was leaked to provide a smokescreen of possible cause for a second "stress-related" collapse.

An operation was scheduled to supposedly fix a hole in Sharon's heart --thus providing a cover of medical competence and making it easier to explain his "emergency" evacuation to the hospital which had first treated him.

And the story was floated that in the event Sharon would be placed under anesthesia during the procedure, Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert would assume the role of acting prime minister. [13]

To muddy the waters further, a controversial "decision" to drive Sharon to the distant Jerusalem hospital instead of one nearer his ranch was yet another "smokescreen" causation ploy.

Finally the "second" collapse took place and the news was soon leaked that Sharon might be brain-dead. At the same time he was "intentionally" placed in a coma --such news easing the transition to a subsequent announcement of what has been a reality since December 18th, 2005: Ariel Sharon is brain dead or vegetative.

But he has been so for weeks.

GILDING THE LILLY

One of the key problems I have with the alleged "second" stroke is the congruence of too many incidents.

The unmonitored blood-thinner; the $3million dollar bribery scandal just the day before; the second surgery scheduled for the day after; the illadvised departure from Jerusalem; the transportation of the PM back to the city by car. It's too many and all too convenient.

But also, in retrospect, much about the saga of Sharon's illness is consistent with a cover-up.

Following the Sunday, December 18th stroke, Sharon was admitted "lying on a stretcher" [1]. He was kept in hospital for two nights. But for Sharon, the last few weeks have "reportedly" been a bundle of laughs, it seems.

The Haaretz daily reported that one of its reporters spoke to Sharon late on the Sunday night on which he first collapsed. "I'm fine," Haaretz quoted Sharon as saying. "Apparently I should have taken a few days off for vacation. But we're continuing to move forward," he said, making a play on the name of his party, Kadima, which means "forward." [4]

And the Maariv daily newspaper said one of its reporters also spoke to Sharon on Sunday. "I hear there's already talk about an acting prime minister," the paper quoted Sharon. "Well, maybe it's too early. I'm still here."

However, in Gaza, Palestinians were firing guns in the air, screaming "Sharon is dead" [4]

His spokesman, Ra'anan Gissin, said that on the Monday morning after that collapse, Sharon got his usual briefings from top aides, who turned his hospital room into a temporary office. Gissin, said he found the prime minister in "high spirits and jovial." [2]

And although the Prime Minister's Office, was slow Sunday night in responding to inquires [2], on Monday top aide Dov Weisglass was similarly upbeat about Sharon's condition. "His spirits are high, he feels and looks good and tomorrow he will leave the hospital," Weisglass told Channel 2. "He feels excellent, is functioning excellently and it is as if it all didn't happen." [2]

But despite those alleged Sunday night conversations, Sharon did not speak to the media Monday [10].

Chief neurologist Tamir Ben-Hur, reportedly proclaimed that "he could say unequivocally that the incident 'will not leave any damage or residual effects,' adding that there was 'an excellent chance it won't repeat itself.' [2]

On Tuesday Sharon "reportedly" looked "bright and cheerful" [3] leaving Jerusalem's Hadassah-Ein Kerem hospital. He even reportedly held a press conference, and thanked the medical staff for their devoted care.

The Jerusalem Post recounted: "It seems that you have missed me," a smiling 77- year-old Sharon told reporters at Jerusalem's Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Kerem in his first public appearance since falling ill on Sunday night. [8] The newspaper published photos apparently showing Sharon leaving hospital and working at his home. [Photos 1 & 2]

Sharon said he "was touched by concern Israelis have shown over my health." He said he would take it easy for the next few days before resuming his usual grueling schedule. [9]

After leaving the hospital, Sharon headed to his Jerusalem residence, where he was "reportedly" briefed on affairs of state, and took calls from well-wishers, including US President George W. Bush. It was again, yet more jovial fun.

Bush "reportedly" told Sharon, "I hope that when I see you in two months, you will be a lot thinner after the diet you will begin. Allow me to give you some pointers," the president noted, "first, eat healthy. Second, work out, and third, after reading your busy schedule, I must tell you, please spread it out." [9]

Staying in Jerusalem would have been a good idea for medical reasons of proximity to the hospital --especially if taking a blood thinner known to raise the risk of brain bleeding. But, Sharon returned to his ranch on Thursday night with permission from his doctors. [12]

His aides pre-announced Sharon would on the following Saturday invite former Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Avi Dichter to come to the Negev ranch to discuss political issues [12].

Sharon also "reportedly" met with Vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni that Thursday to rebuke them for infighting over their position in the new Kadima party. "Stop arguing, shut your mouths, stop dealing with yourselves and focus on your work," an apparently forceful Sharon said --according to aides. [12]

And the comical mood returned. On December 25th, Sharon was back to a full schedule, and "reportedly" met with ministers and gave them a tongue-in-cheek warning about overeating during the eight-day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. Sharon says that he hopes they will "all eat doughnuts and potato pancakes," but that he recommends that they "don't overdo it." [11]

Faking such cabinet meetings and Sharon's claimed meetings with top colleagues would be relatively easy. And faking the photos of the PM at work easier still.

Less easy to dismiss is the Prime Minister's Office ceremony on Wednesday 4th Jan, 2006 [14] marking the transfer of Bank Leumi shares from state to private hands. There is even a photo of Sharon accepting a large cheque from the investors. Yet three different news reports leave it unclear whether the PM appeared at the press conference --not just the claimed cheque-handover photo opportunity [14 15 16]. Wearing his hat as Finance Minister, Ehud Olmert was certainly there.

But in this case also, it would have not been impossible to secure the cooperation of these investors in a deception. J. Ezra Merkin, managing partner of the Gabriel Capital Group(which won the tender for the bank) at the press conference reportedly said: "The well-being of Israel is no small matter for my partners and me." Cooperation from such a party would be no real problem.

Bear in mind that the full national security interests of the United States, the EU and Israel would be brought to bear on such a situation. That kind of geopolitical clout buys a lot of intelligence agency deception power.

Get ready for Financial Hurricane Katrina

"In November, 2005, the Fed mysteriously announced with little comment and no palatable justification that they will hide the main staple of money supply measurement(M-3), effective March 2006. So what's been happening to M-3 since then? For the raw figures, fasten your seat belt. M-3 was increased $58.7 billion last week, a 30% annual rate of growth. Over the past 6 weeks it is up $192.9 billion, a 16.7 percent Banana Republic hyperinflationary pace. This is nuts, folks - unless there is an incredible risk out there we are not being told about."

So writes Robert McHugh in a recent financial article (in full below). And it's an article that has been getting some traffic on the CIA Fakes.

One of the advantages of knowing about the CIA fakes is that when you see them promote an article, you know it must be well worth wondering WHY?

One of the key factors McHugh cites for the M-3 madness is the forthcoming Euro-denominated trading of oil on the new Iranian bourse in March, 2006. And there has been much nudge-nudge comment among the self-same CIA Fakes about the U.S. hostility to Iran (not to mention Iraq) having been based on their desire to prevent this disastrous outcome for the U.S.

Bulls**t. The US/EU elite long ago decided this new Dollar-Euro policy between them. It's a planned development as part of the financial elite's rebalancing of global dependance on the dollar. And the U.S. elite is totally at one with their European counterparts on this shift.

It's a desperately needed shift.

The inflationary Clinton legacy was always going to be but a short-term panacea for U.S. economic woes. The Clinton stock bubble shifted to the Bush housing bubble. And all this vapor-prosperity took place despite no significant gains in productivity; increasing foreign competition; inflation; wages stagnation; and the diversion of productive capital into both federal white elephants and, of course, the military budget/oughtright theft.

It's a no-brainer that this eventually leads to financial collapse.

Which is why, in anticipation of such an eventual outcome, the military got a bonanza payoff from 9/11, and why the economic policy of destroy/rebuild allowed a similar bonanza accrue to Haliburton et al, in Iraq and in New Orleans. It's called looking after your pals in tough times.

The United States is being reinvented as a low-wage economy with a high-tech military-industrial-technological froth atop --sustained by a Homeland Security repression apparatus to keep the stunned peasants in check.

So, given that momentum, there is no alternative to dollar deflation in the longer term. The dollar is going down. And the Euro is there to take up the slack.

The Fed's unrevealed M-3 fund will be used as it has in the past --to hand over the freshly-printed dollars which allow key banks to speculate in the markets and thwart the true market forces from exerting their corrective effect.

It will cause stagflation. A stagnant economy with escalating inflation in all areas except wages.

The M-3 fund will be used to massage the economy until after the 2006 elections. Bush is already being lined up to take the political heat for the later colllapse. The Iranians and their oil trading bourse will also be blamed. As will Bush's costly foreign war. In truth, the economic problems of the U.S. are much more directly the result of international capital's globalization project.

And the spew of resignations among the members of the Feb Board over the last few years is not because, as McHugh speculates, they don't want to oversee bad economic planning.

It's because they don't want to be around when the dollar hits the fan; the housing bubble pops; and the economy tanks. And with Alan Greenspan gone from the Fed, the new appointment of Ben Bernanke is akin to the appointment of Michael D. Brown to head FEMA.

The Fed's 'Mr. Fall Guy' has been wheeled into place.

What's the Fed Up To With the Money Supply?

The G8 plan to demonize Syria is in disarray after the discrediting of two key witnesses central to a U.N. report on the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri. That's bad news for their goal of the imperial destruction of Arab nations.

Which has left the schemers in rather a tight fix. The solution: kill somebody else to raise tensions again and act as a smokescreen, and meanwhile lie hard to cover-up the truth.

And when it comes to lying, you know you can rely on UPI. So here goes:

U.N.: Syria slows Hariri probe

The U.N. commission investigating the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri [has] reviewed the investigative report by Detlev Mehlis, head of the International Independent Investigation Commission which is investigating Hariri's assassination.

Since the identity of confidential source, Hussam Taher Hussam, has been disclosed, he has withdrawn his testimony which implicated high-level Syrian officials in the assassination....

"Mr. Hussam is being manipulated by the Syrian authorities..." said the report. [link]

For barefaced lying by omission, it's hard to beat that.

Mr. Hussan has not simply "withdrawn his report", as UPI states. He says that Lebanese officials tortured him to present false testimony against Syria to the U.N. commission. He says he was held by supporters of Saad Hariri, the son of the former prime minister, and offered $1.3 million if he would lie about senior Syrian officials. They wanted him to present false evidence implicating Maher Assad, the younger brother of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, and Asef Shawkat, the president's brother-in-law, in the Hariri's killing.

This UPI report appeared in a section called "International Intelligence". It should really have been called "International CIA Intelligence Propaganda".

So, with the U.N. report going down in flames, the G8 schemers had to move fast. Thus it became expedient to murder again in order to create a smokescreen.

Just days ago, Gibran Tueni, editor of the An-Nahar newspaper and an MP, was murdered by a car bomb along with two others, as his motorcade drove through the industrial suburb of Mkalles. Mr Tueni played a prominent role in the mass demonstrations against Syria following the killing of Hariri, and was an outspoken critic of the Damacus regime.

Hold on a second, you say. You mean to tell us that they would kill one of their own main anti-Syrian allies simply to whip up a frenzy among his fellow anti-Syrians and to divert from the holes in the U.N. report??

Well... Yes!

I mean, which part of totally ruthless don't you get?

After all, they are playing for high stakes. This article on Al Basrah sums it up best. But please be warned that if you have been exposed to too much CIA/Mossad propaganda, this may cause you to feel just a bit sick. Actually, even if you haven't, you will probably feel ill anyway after reading the following:

The Threats Against Iraq and Syria and the Option of Resistance

Another Tiananmen: Civillians Massacred in China

International media are still downplaying the scale of last week's massacre of civillians in China's Guangdong province, putting the number of dead between two and twenty. But local reports set the toll far higher.

On December 6, Chinese authorities in the rural village of Shanwei deployed 3,000 paramilitary police with tanks and machine guns, who have killed in all between 50 and 70 protesting villagers --the greatest anti-civillian use of used military force since the June 4, 1989 Massacre in Tiananmen Square.

By the 8th of December, 33 residents had been killed and several dozen were missing say local reports. The villagers had been protesting for proper compensation after corrupt officials had expropriated farmers' land for a power plant. Protests against corruption, pollution and land seizures have become increasingly common in rural China.

In a damage limitation exercise, the authorities in China have arrested a police commander who ordered officers to open fire, media reports say.

Shanwei Enforces Martial Law,
Relatives Beg to Claim Bodies

One villager told news media: "As of now, the authorities do not simply arrest and then sentence people, but shoot them at will. A villager was shot dead in public yesterday afternoon."

The villagers say that the Shanwei city government told victims' family members not to tell the outside world that the victims were shot, and the city government will give them welfare, etc. With people being shot in the streets, villagers were isolated from each other. Phone services were also cut off.

A 70-year-old farmer said that he had never seen such a terrible thing in his lifetime. "When the Chinese Communist Party kills people, it is even scarier than when the Japanese army attacked the town or than bandits and gangsters. The villagers of Dongzhou are honest people who can endure hardship. How could the CCP fire on such decent citizens?!"

Another villager said that the authorities attempted to destroy the corpses. After the massacre on the night of December 6, the authorities cremated some of the bodies and sent others to the seashore for disposal. Some residents wanted to take back the corpses but were prevented from doing so. According to a report by Radio Free Asia, villagers saw police putting police uniforms on three villagers' bodies and taking photos.

The armed police and riot teams cleared the scene in front of the power plant where they had fired on the villagers. Villagers burned incense and knelt down before the police, begging to get the bodies of their family members back.


Phones Cut Off and Reporters Denied Information

When questioned by Agence France Presse (AFP), officials and police of Shanwei City said that they knew nothing of such an event and refused to make further comments.

The telephone interviews of overseas reporters were often cut off right in the middle. Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported that the cell phones and telephones belonging to the town's representatives who had informed RFA of the situation had all been cut off.

There are still thousands of armed police and public security men guarding the entrance to the town and no one is allowed to leave. Police have arrested three representatives of the town, claiming it was a narcotics-related investigation.

The television news reports from Shanwei City stated that the villagers opened fire first. One villager said angrily, "How can common people have guns? The government owns all the guns!"


Background Leading to the Incident

All this stems from a dispute in Donzhou Town, Shanwei City, over land compensation. The municipal authorities, in order to build a power plant, appropriated a large section of the farmers' land and also forbid villagers from catching or raising fish in a nearby lake. Some villagers said that they were not opposed to the new power plant, but that their compensation money from the central government had been taken by corrupt officials, so they did not receive just compensation for the land.

The farmers appealed to the authorities this past May, asking them to solve the compensation problem, but no one from the government took care of it. As a result, the villagers began on September 21 to block the road on which the power plant's transportation vehicles made their way to the plant.

On December 5, authorities in Shanwei, Guangdong Province, sent about 100 riot police to the power plant. When some representatives from Donzhou Town went to see the situation, they were immediately arrested. More than 3000 Donghzhou residents went to the plant to ask the police to release these representatives, but the police fired tear gas, then shot and killed villagers.

FEMA Chief Worked for McVeigh's Lawyer

Disgraced FEMA chief, Michael Brown once worked for Stephen Jones, the prominent Oklahoma lawyer who was the lead defense attorney in the Timothy McVeigh case.

And Jones is someone with a very interesting background himself. He has represented many ex- and retired spies, and previously worked for Richard Nixon, Nelson Rockefeller and Donald Rumsfeld.

Jones has acted for former employees of the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, and the National Security Council staff.

But that's just the workaday rountne of a carreer mired in state security issues. He has defended cases involving allegations of terrorism, domestic subversion, espionage, electronic surveillance, wiretapping, and computer surveillance.

His bio states:

He was also involved in consulting work with various targets, defendants, or persons of interest to the Federal Government for alleged acts of terrorism in the Philippines, the Far East, and September 11. He has also represented individuals accused of disloyalty to the United States and/or the unauthorized disclosure of confidential government information or classified government information.

Of topical interest is that Jones was once a legislative assistant to Congressman (now Secretary of Defense) Donald Rumsfeld. And back in the last century, Jones was a personal research assistant to Richard M. Nixon, and represented Nelson Rockefeller's political Interests in Oklahoma. He also worked on Rockefeller's 1964 and 1968 national campaigns for the presidency.

It's an impressive biography. It must have made Timothy McVeigh feel that with representation like that, he had absolutely nothing to worry about.

Big mistake.

Almost as big a mistake as appointing Mike Brown to be head of FEMA.

If it was truly a mistake --and not just a clever contrivance, the more skeptical of you might say.

Because, in retrospect, Jones is now scathing of Brown's talents when working for him. He told Time magazine:

"He did mainly transactional work, not litigation," says Jones.
"There was a feeling that he was not serious and somewhat shallow."

Ouch.

Jones sang a similar song to the St Petersburg Times:

"He was average. Maybe that's the best way to put it."

Brown was pleasant enough, if a bit opportunistic, Jones said, but he did not put enough time and energy into his job. "He would have been better suited to be a small city or county lawyer," he said. Jones was surprised Brown was being considered for job at FEMA but figured it wasn't impossible he could have risen high enough in local and state government to be considered for a job directing FEMA operations in Oklahoma.

The agents quickly corrected him. This was a national post in Washington, deputy director of FEMA, the arm of the federal government that prepares for and responds to disasters around the United States.

Jones looked at the agents, "You're surely kidding?"

With ex-employers like that --who needs enemies. Not Brown.

Now I know that you 'conspiracy theorists' will be also saying to yourself that Stephen Jones might be a safe pair of hands for such a sensitive case as McVeigh's. Not to mention being safe hands for the many cases involving national security he has handled. You probably reckon he must be pretty well connected -where it matters.

Here's an example of this thinking:

Gerry Spence, one of the best criminal lawyers in the country, [and] Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz [have] also been highly critical of Jones' abysmal defence. One defence lawyer said he's seen lengthier defences for drunken driving.

Jones was paid, or paid off, somewhere in the region of ten million dollars by the government to "defend" McVeigh. A strong incentive not to rock the boat.

So you might well be suspicious of the motives behind what he is saying about Brown.

And I'll bet you've got him marked as some kind of a Rockefeller stooge too.

I knew you would. It's very naughty of you.

But maybe you figure that all this helps you understand why it was that Michael Brown got the unenviable job of being the pre-arranged fall guy for Katrina.

And maybe it does.

New Orleans Residents Face Down Evacuation Bid

Despite tough talk from New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, and scare stories about disease and toxins from the US Centers for Disease Control, residents determined to stay seem to have successfully stalled implementation of forced evacuations.

Local reports indicate Louisiana State Police troopers and National Guard units in New Orleans are unwilling to participate in forced evacuations. But FEMA are still blocking aid in a policy some locals have dubbed "trying to starve us out."

Declare Martial Law on Big Oil Looters

In a thinly disguised attempt to act as if it cared about the people wading in the water, Chevron has pledged $5 million to relief efforts. ExxonMobil and Shell have pledged $2 million apiece. British Petroleum and Citgo have pledged $1 million each.

This is nothing next to their wealth. Of the world's seven most profitable corporations, four are ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, and Chevron. The [four] had combined profits last year of $72.8 billion...

Zarqawi Hails Katrina's 'Divine Strike' on US

Reputed Al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has hailed the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina as beginning of the end for the United States.

"It is the start of its collapse," said an unverified Internet statement purportedly from the Al-Qaeda chief.

"America has been hit by a divine strike. The curses of the oppressed have been fulfilled," the Zarqawi statement said Sunday. "God is on the lookout (to punish) the oppressors."

STRANGE BEDFELLOWS

But 'Zarqawi' is not alone thinking it's the beginning of the end. US talk radio host , George Noory believes the hurricane is clear evidence that civilization is now in the "End Times" described in the Bible.

"I always wonder," he mused aloud during a show last week. "Why did this have to happen now? ...I mean why would divine Providence want this to happen to us now?"

Maybe he should ask George Bush --who has a hotline to the Almighty.

Maybe he should ask the DIA and CIA. 'Zarqawi' is long discredited as a construction of US propaganda. His internet statements are designed to give the western public the impression that foreign Al-Qaeda fighters --rather than local Iraqi resistance-- are the opposition to the US occupation of Iraq.

And Noory's Coast to Coast was recently named by us in our CIA Fakes list. Noory too, follows an agenda dictated by the same behind-the-scenes US intelligence interests.

This agency-created "end times" hoopla has been a useful way of roping in Bush's wilder fundamentalist supporters in the US. Noory's clearly now remarketing the same nonsense to an audience more used to aliens than stigmata. With Zarqawi chiming in for effect.

Looks like the CIA have everybody firmly "on message".

The question is critical due to the enormous amount of coverage the issue of "Peak Oil" is receiving from the mainstream press. If the supply of hydrocarbons is renewable- then the contrary to the conventional wisdom being touted throughout the mainstream press today- the world is NOT running out of oil.

Professor Emmanuil Chekaliuk told the conference on Petroleum and Petroleum Geology in Moscow that:

"Statistical thermodynamic analysis has established clearly that hydrocarbon molecules which comprise petroleum require very high pressures for their spontaneous formation, comparable to that required for diamond...

To suggest that hydrocarbon molecules spontaneously evolve in the regimes of temperature and pressure characterized by the near-surface of the Earth, which are the regimes of methane creation and hydrocarbon destruction, does not even deserve consideration."

Contrarily, the statistics of the international petroleum industry establish that, far from diminishing, the net known recoverable reserves of petroleum have been growing steadily for the past fifty years. Those statistics show that, for every year since about 1946, the international petroleum industry has discovered at least five new tons of recoverable oil for every three which have been consumed....

Ellsberg, Sibel Edmonds & The Secret Team

No decoding of an intelligence operation such as 9/11 is complete without analysing the intelligence agencies themselves. Uncovering their lies today depends on understanding their lies in the past.

New lies instruct us about old lies. And vice versa.

For those still coming to terms with the scope of our CIA Internet Fakes list, an extract from L. Fletcher Prouty's "The Secret Team" gives some indication of the lengths to which a secret intelligence service will go to cover it's tracks.

Even without necessarily endorsing Prouty, the issues he raises illuminate the real world subtleties of how intelligence services work.

One chapter has some stimulating stuff on Ellsberg that seems quite relevant:

The tremendous pressures in this country that have built up during the long tragic years of the conflict in Indochina are driving researchers, politicians, and other concerned Americans to search for the origins and sources of responsibility for that disaster.... This pressure is now forcing Agency and ST (Secret Team) supporters to begin a serious program of rewriting history, in a massive effort to protect and shield the Agency while shifting the search into other avenues.

We have already said that the work of Daniel Ellsberg and the number of people who helped him may have been the first major step in this effort. The released Pentagon Papers do much to portray the CIA as it is supposed to be, while doing all it can to shift any censure of the CIA as an organization primarily concerned with clandestine operations, to the military, the National Security Council, and the White House.

Read more in the Forum here. It's a valid criticism of Ellsberg, no matter what your attitude to Prouty. All the more relevant because this Vietnam-era issue has modern echoes in relation to 9/11, as the agency dons a public cloak of ineptitude to cover it's much-suspected culpability.

But, this time there's too much blame to shift. Some must be taken on board -even if under the guise of incompetence.

In that light it hardly seems surprising that a man who --unwittingly or not-- shifted blame from the agency's reputation in the past, has teamed up with a lady who is today helping to spread yet more blame away from the agency.

In one fell swoop Sibel Edmonnd has offloaded blame from the CIA --and spread it across the FBI, the State Department; an unnamed (i.e. Mossad) foreign intelligence operation; and a non-terrorist criminal network.

Quite a feat.

In an interview with me (her first recorded interview, by the way), Edmonds alleged that the US State Department had blocked investigations showing links between criminal drug trafficking networks and the attacks on 9/11.

"Certain investigations were being quashed, let's say per State Department's request, because it would have affected certain foreign relations [or] affected certain business relations with foreign organizations," she said. (Interview)

Edmonds also said the pre-9/11 US intelligence system had been penetrated by a drug-linked, semi-legitimate criminal intelligence network, operating with seeming impunity inside the FBI. She claimed a fellow translator with top security clearance tried to recruit her, but when Edmonds reported the recruitment approach to her superiors she was fobbed off.

The post-9/11 intelligence 'failures' she said, included the willful quashing by the government, of investigations tracing those criminal networks.

At the time, I wrote:

If that's a limited hangout, God help us. The truth must be awful.

The "limited hangout" was, of course, 100% pure LIHOP. But with a twist. Edmonds was publicly all LIHOP, but assured everyone that her private, gagged testimony went much further. Either way, Ellsberg seemed convinced by Edmonds, as he too hammered home the LIHOP.

"I'm not an expert on all this," he told me. "But I am increasingly open to the explanation that people in the administration did see this coming... and may have indeed reduced some obstacles.., or opened the door, in effect. I haven't been absolutely convinced on that, but it does seem to me to be an open question that deserves investigation."

"Now beyond that... it seems to me quite plausible that --plausible, that's all I'd say-- that Pakistan was quite involved in this, and that many Saudis were well informed on this," said Ellsberg in a recorded interview.

"And to say that. To say Pakistan-- is to me, to say C.I.A. Because I think the relations between the Pakistan I.S.I. [intelligence service] and CIA were very close from the beginning. And it's hard to say that the I.S.I knew something that the CIA had no knowledge of... But, I wouldn't say that I have been yet been thoroughly convinced by any alternative." (Interview)

In those prevarications, Ellsberg both has his cake and eats it. Smearing with one hand and wiping away with the other.

Between them, Ellsberg and Edmonds spread the blame across the Saudis, the Pakistanis, the CIA, the State Dept., the FBI, the Mossad, a drug-linked criminal gang and the implicit villians: Al-Qaida.

Soon, from miles away in Florida, Daniel Hopsicker, with help from Atta's girlfriend Amanda Keller was insisting that Edmonds' story dovetailed with his discoveries of a drug network linked to 9/11. His list of Florida-based villians is as exhaustive as that of the dynamic duo in D.C..

If you buy that whole array of LIHOP spins, then buy it.

I didn't buy it then or now, but I kept my convictions to myself as I reported her tale. I was playing dumb and playing the long game for a bigger payoff: the whole truth on 9/11.

You can't get anywhere investigation 9/11 from web material alone. I figured that some misdirection of my own would get me closer to the truth.

It did. And then some.

Those interviews with Edmonds and Ellsberg led me to further interviews with many of the well known 9/11 skeptics -on our BreakForNews netradio shows. As the jigsaw pieces came together, person by person, website by website, the big picture emerged.

WHAT FLAVOR CONSPIRACY YOU WANT?

One big corner of that overall 9/11 picture is formed by four disparate-seeming individuals: a veteran whistleblower, an attractive novice whistleblower, a campaigning journalist and a reputed lingerie model; jigsaw peices called Ellsberg, Edmonds, Hopsicker and Keller. Ellsberg supports Edmonds, confirmed by Hopsicker --backed by eyewitness accounts from Keller. But they're all telling different flavors of the same story.

To specify which story that is, let's take a look at the popular tales of 9/11. The notorious main division is between LIHOP and MIHOP. But it's much more detailed than that. Explanations come in a full range of flavors --starting with the official story:

A. Official story:

CIA/FBI were incompetent; Bush and/or Clinton were complacent.

B. Official Lame Conspiracy:

CIA/FBI were incompetent; Bush/Cheney maybe let it happen; Israelis Knew.

C. Official LIHOP Conspiracy:

CIA/FBI were compromised; Bush/Cheney did let it happen; Israelis Helped.

D. Official LIHOP Wild Conspiracy:

CIA/FBI compromised; Bush/Cheney/Neocons let it happen; Israelis Did It.

E. Official LIHOP Tinfoil Conspiracy:

Israelis/Neocons/Bush/Cheney Did It; CIA/FBI looked the other way.

F. Official MIHOP 'Serious' Conspiracy:

Israelis/Neocons/CIA/FBI/Bush/Cheney/Military-Industrial-Complex Did It.

G. Official Loony Conspiracies:

Rothschilds and/or Rockefellers and/or CFR and/or Bildebergers did it.
Globalists who want to run everything in a World Government did it.
Jews and Jewish bankers -who already run everything- did it.
Satanists, Opus Dei or Reptilians did it.

It's a terrific variety of theories.
It plays out something like this:

• The mainstream media push version A; hint at B; sneer at G.
• The controlled right/intellectual media pushes version B.
• The controlled left/intellectual media pushes version C.
• The 'moderate' Fake internet sites push versions C and D.
• The 'softcore' Fake internet sites push versions D and E.
• The 'independent' Fake internet sites push version F.
• The 'loony' Fake interent sites push variations of version G.

But every single one, from A to G are OFFICIAL versions, sanctioned and promoted by the 9/11 intelligence coverup operation and their CIA Fakes network. They have a flavor for every market.

The creation of this multiplicity of explanations is a core element of the coverup. Left to their own devices, people on the Internet might have figured out the truth themselves. But with this circus in action, there is always plenty of distraction and lots of division in opinion.

The intelligence coverup is not trying to stop 9/11 conspiracy theories on the internet. It's creating them. Then playing off supporters of the different theories against each other. That's a classic Cointelpro-style tactic.

The perpetrators knew that a sizeable segment of people were going to be pretty sure 9/11 was not as it seems. They don't mind that, for now. The immediate objectives are first, to to stop these skeptical views from gaining hold in mainstream opinion. Second, to prevent a coherent view forming which could convinve a much broader number of people -particularly those on the political left.

Ellsberg, Edmonds, Hopsicker, Keller are clearly advocates for Version C. They are not the only ones.

Soon after our interview with Sibel Edmonds, Antiwar.com began carrying her story and have been her strongest promoters ever since. The Edmonds comments about a "certain" intelligence agency, sit well on that website, where lead Antiwar.com columnist Justin Raimondo, is just now yet again pushing the "Israelis Knew/Did It" angle on 9/11.

Many other CIA Fakes are heavily promoting this line, because it's a key part of what the coverup hopes will forever be the main vaguely-hinted, but unproven conspiracy theory on 9/11: Bush, Cheney, and Mossad let it happen on purpose.

The truth is far worse. But we are getting closer to it, step by step.

Mainstream and alternative media are being extremely misleading with talk of a "tipping point" in U.S. support for Bush's policies in Iraq.

Tipping point?? Among those with strong opinions, almost two and a half times as many are against Bush policies, as for them!

The key development of the last three months is not the overall figures, but the collapse in support among strong backers of the Bush administration's Iraq policies.

As measured by an Ipsos/AP poll, strong support has crashed from a quarter of the U.S. population to one fifth, in the period June to August, 2005.

Iraq is an issue on which over 70% of people hold hardened views, compared to 26% with mild opinions. That makes the fall in strong support highly significant. Yet the Associated Press reports:

THE 50/50 LIE

"Tipping point" is when things are finely balanced. Like say, 50 -50. Like say, an anti-war mother versus a pro-war mother. Whom do you back? 50 -50. That's the cunning spin.

But back in June those strongly opposed already outnumbered backers of Bush policies by 45% to 26%. Now they eclipse them by 46% to 20%, almost two and a half to one.

In truth, the tipping point is long, long past.

We now have a meltdown of core Bush support.

Remember the misleading media maps of the presidential election outcome. Supposedly the U.S.A. was awash with red Republican votes. Supposedly, the 'fundies' had redrawn U.S. politics for GW. But, those maps -like the rest of Bush's "victory"- were just an illusion. The truth was much less Red.

The states where George Bush did well, have huge land areas but few people. Adjusting for actual population and stolen votes shows a Purple America where legions of fundamentalist Bush supporters are merely a myth.

Now, the latest poll shows core Bush backers on Iraq at only 20%. That's much more like the measure of the Bush bedrock support -a far cry from a majority. Tough luck cowboy.

Don't let the media away with the "tipping point" lie. They helped steal the election, now they're sealing the public's true opinions. Email this article to antiwar activists. The electronic 'Bush' telegraph is vital. After all, your friends won't be hearing this from the media. Not even the alternative media, it seems.

Giving Conspiracy Theory a Bad Name

WhatReally Happened.com is plugging fellow CIA Fake, Truthseeker.co.uk, (also FinancialOutrage.org.uk) which claims to have evidence that will "totally destroy the Police's official story regarding the supposed 7/7 London Bombers - if circulated widely enough"

Take a good look at the way the CIA Fakes operate.

The website has a train timetable showing the cancellation of the 7:40 Luton-London train that morning. Rivero's comments:

"The London Police claim the bombers were photographed at the Luton station, then rode the 7:40 train to King's Cross, where they were photographed again. But according to the actual train timetable, the 7:40 train was cancelled that day and even had it not been cancelled, would not have arrived in time for the men to be photographed at King's Cross at 8:26." [Source]

Fair enough, but that website has another webpage which goes far beyond that claim:

"ON 7/7 THERE WERE NO TRAINS FROM LUTON UNTIL 8.03 AM" [Source] [Archived]

Just a second. The website also has an official email response from rail operator Thameslink, stating that six trains left well before 8.a.m. They were the 07.04, 07.08, 07.16, 07.20, 07.24, and 07.30. Was it six trains or none?

Get it? Rivero links to a page with the modest claim --but the same site makes wilder contradictory claims elsewhere.

And even the modest claim endorsed by Rivero is not concusive. Thameslink said that only the 7:40 had been cancelled. The site claims that the 7:30 also did not run.

Even if that were true, the police could argue that the four alleged bombers must have caught the 7:24. After all, the fake CCTV image shows them entering the Luton station seconds before 7:22. That doesn't "totally destroy" the police claims.

Furthermore, it's curious that these pages do not question the authenticity of the Luton CCTV image, nor do they question whether the police actually have their claimed CCTV photos from King's Cross. And Rivero also accepts the Luton CCTV image is for real.

What is going on here is that the pot is being deliberately spoiled. These claims have been emailed to all mainstream media outlets in the U.K., and the site encourages others to do the same. Here's part of their 'lunatic' letter to the media:

"Either damn your controllers and print it, or E Mail one of your payment controllers... and ask for more than the £50,000 you get tax free per year for not printing the truth, because this story is quite obviously worth much more than that. Illuminate the world. Or should that be Illuminati the world."

Imagine you are a reasonable journalist and you get that that email. Now that's what I call giving conspiracy theory a bad name. And there's a lot of it about.

REPEAT THE LIE, REPEAT THE LIE

Finally, there is one grimly ironic feature of all this. Rivero continually points out how the Bush administration has a policy of repeating lies enough times until people unconsciously believe them. Yet he is doing exactly the same.

In a comment the previous day on claims that alleged bus bomber, Hasib Hussain, tried to call his accomplices around 9am, Rivero says that Hasib:

"might be trying to call his friends to see if they were okay, and getting no answer, start to realize that something was funny with the "fake" bombs they had been hired to carry for the "terror drill". [Source]

This line is a half-baked theory. All it would take is one of the four to have mentioned to anyone that he had been hired for a "terror drill" and we would have had family members screaming about it. No intelligence operation takes those kind of risks. It's a laughable theory to advance, even more so because the Alex Jones hype about a 1,000 person "teror drill" that morning has been debunked.

Rivero knows that the Cambridge News printed a survivor's account describing a bomb under the train. He linked to that story after we broke news of it. With bombs under the train, why would the real perpetrators need the four alleged bombers?

No. The simplest way to do this was the scenario we outlined: the four were intercepted and then killed elsewhere by means of a similar bomb. After the underfloor train bombs exploded, their remains were later placed among other remains legitimately recovered from the blast sites.

That's why the train timetables issue is being promoted. That's why the "terror drill" lie is repeated again and again by the CIA Fakes.

To throw you off the trail with half-baked theories.

While giving conspiracy theory a bad name.

Why the Media Ran with Cindy Sheehan

For a while there, Cindy Sheehan was everywhere. As a mainstream media which had been silent on anti-war sentiment in the USA suddenly gave voice to one mother protesting against Bush.

Why? A sudden attack of media conscience? No.

For a start, the media had to eventually acknowledge the antiwar feelings, in order to buff up their "impartial" image. Best to do so in August, getting the issue out of the way before the political season resumes. So the timing suited the establishment.

But there's another reason. They ran with Cindy because it let them frame the issue to their liking. They had a perfect ambush for Cindy ready and waiting all along. Here it is:

Stung by the ability of one grieving mother to inspire a growing antiwar movement, the White House has found a mom to call its own. An obviously delighted President Bush introduced her to a boisterous invitation-only audience mostly made up of military families in Idaho yesterday -- then sent her out to talk to the press.

"There are few things in life more difficult than seeing a loved one go off to war," Bush said in his speech yesterday. "Tammy Pruett has four sons serving in Iraq right now with the Idaho National Guard -- Eric, Evan, Greg and Jeff. Last year, her husband Leon and another son, Eren, returned from Iraq, where they helped train Iraqi firefighters in Mosul.

"Tammy says this -- and I want you to hear this -- 'I know that if something happens to one of the boys, they would leave this world doing what they believe, what they think is right for our country. And I guess you couldn't ask for a better way of life than giving it for something that you believe in.'

America lives in freedom because of families like the Pruetts. (Applause.)"

So. Some moms support the war. Some don't. No big deal.

That's why they ran with Cindy.

Our Good Friends in the CIA - NOT !

Maybe Xymphora is treading carefully after our revelations about the CIA Fakes, because the blog is now distancing itself from ex-FBI, 'Dog WhistleBlower' (can't hear it), Sibel Edmonds:

"Edmonds sometimes makes me a bit nervous as she seems overly adept with the terms and arguments of conspiracy theory for someone who is supposed to have been a lowly FBI translator." [Source]

That move has become necessary for Xymphora -who is marketed with an image of a reasonable, impartial analyst. Nevertheless, despite covering his ass with that comment, the blog goes on to fully endorse the spin I call "our good friends in the CIA":

"Is she part of the battle in Washington between the Bush Administration enablers involved in the drugs/arms business who don't mind directly or indirectly supporting al Qaeda if it is good for business, and those old-fashioned types who still consider that dealing with American enemies is treason?"

This is the heavily, slickly-promoted notion that within the CIA (and FBI) are loyal, patriotic Americans (Edmonds, Scheuer, McGovern, et al) outraged by the Neocon coup. They are fighting the Neocons. They are on our side.

Rubbish. This whole thing is a CIA deception.

Here's news, if you didn't know: intelligence agencies don't just manipulate external events, they manipulate the image of themselves that is presented in mainstream and alternative media.

These deceptions also enable them to place operatives who present with a cover of being "outcasts" from the system.

The alternative media is ridden with ex-FBI, ex-CIA, ex-NSA, ex-MI5 people who are on "our side". It's all total BS.

Back to Xymphora, spinning the lie some more:

"We should see the battle concerning the lies created by friends of Israel to trick Americans into the attack on Iraq, and the whole AIPAC scandal, as part of the same larger war."

He's right. The AIPAC scandal, the dancing Israeli's of 9/11, and the CIA-FBI-NSA-MI5 whistleblowers are indeed part of the same war.

The same phantom, non-existent war.

It's a comfort-blanket fairytale. A 9/11 deception.

Just Another Day in the Fake Media

Grit your teeth as we trawl through some news stories from
the CIA Fakes. Just to get a feel for the typical BS on offer.

RAVE SHOCK HORROR

Rense.com is running big with the Utah Rave bust by police SWAT teams dressed in military fatigues. He's not the only one. The story is all over. Yesterday we wondered if this was actually a slick PsyOp aimed at intimidating antiwar protest, but posing as an anti-government story.

Well, the heavy spin today by the Fakes indicates that's precisely what it is. Rense's caption gives the game away. "CLAMPDOWN" -it proclaims. OMG it's the POLICE STATE. Arrrrgh! Alex Jones was RIGHT all along!

Yawn.

PENTAGON MISSILE?

Artic Beccon is still getting mileage out of a tale about a missile striking the Pentagon, rather than a plane. The story cites a radiation expert who claims high radiation readings were measured near the pentagon after 9/11. That indicates a depleted uranium missile may have been used, says the story. Gasp.

Sound promising, but then article casually drops a mention about determining if the DU came from a missile or "ballast". Don't know if you are aware that they use depleted uranium in aircraft as ballast, but they do. [Crazy I know, but they do.]

Therefore the radiation could arguably have come from DU bricks in an airliner --not from a DU warhead on a missile. So the story sort of fizzles out.

MISSING?

TBRNews.org is running a promo asking for a nationwide campaign to get people to check their deceased service members against the TBR alphabetized list of fatalities. They say that 9,000 have died --far in excess of the official figures. Does something strike you about this?

Every one of these 7,000 or so allegedly undeclared deceased service members have family and many relations. So there must be 100,000 people in the USA who haven't noticed that their deceased relative is not on the major media's online official casualty pages. Or who have noticed, but this is being suppressed by the media.

Hold on. Just 10 GIs who were deceased --but not on the lists-- would be an unstoppable national story.

Sorry, doesn't hold water.

Mickey Atta and the Big McWhoppers

Atta, Atta, Atta, Atta, Atta.

Atta, Atta Atta.

Each new "question" raised about Atta is designed to relentlessly focus on the official patsy. But you're supposed to think these are "breakthroughs" by the CIA Fake conspiracy sites.

The 9/11 perpetrators carefully designed this wild back-story for Atta in every detail, but you are not supposed to figure that out. It's all thousands of miles from the major crime scene at the WTC, but then this is hamburger-style conspiracy marketing. Grab an Atta McWhopper.

Many of the Fakes are running the Able Danger story about a secret intelligence unit which had identified Atta either in 2000, or in late 1999 -while Clinton was still running things. The spin is that this shows how fraudulent is the Bush administration official line on Atta. As usual, it sounds promising on first sight. It's Bush's fault.

But, puzzlingly, Rush Limbaugh, Newsmax and other right-wing media are running the same story. But their take is that the Clinton Justice Department leaned on the DIA to squelch the report. So it's Clinton's fault.

More spin alleges that the CIA knew but never told the 9/11 Commission, and that a culture of "obstructionism" still prevails in the agency. So it's the CIA's fault.

Also doing the rounds, is the account of a "suspicious" visit by Atta to a gambling ship owned by Republican money-man, Jack Abramoff. All that is being loosely connected to Al-Qaida drug dealing and money laundering. So it's the Saudi's fault.

And all the while, as Sibel Edmonds implies, it's the FBI's fault and the Israeli's fault.

Amazing, isn't it, that one story can be spun so many different directions.

Everything "discovered" about Mohammed Atta was planned. Atta-Boy's job was to smear a false trail of associations all over the Florida landscape.

But when it comes down to it, it's all LIHOP. Bush/Cheney had the motive and let it happen on purpose. Throw in Al-Qaida, some drugs, a few Republicans and Saudis . Now you have means and opportunity. The LIHOP is complete.

So, let's drop the BS.

The CIA-backed "conspiracy theory" features scapegoats GWB and Cheney, whose LIHOP sins will remain forever unproven, but deeply suspected.

Their official conspiracy theory diversion patsy is as pervasive as Mickey Mouse: the over-the-top, tabloid Atta.

The hazy connections supposedly run to the drugs trade, Jeb Bush, the Saudis and of course the Zionist Mossad [who are reputedly cunning in the extreme, but somehow also so dumb that they leave a wide trail of incompetent operatives arrested nationwide in suspicious circumstances].

In other words, the government-sponsored 9/11 conspiracy theory is a masterpiece of loose innuendo designed to appeal to many target markets. From MadCowProd to Newsmax to Time magazine.

Same story, same actors, different spins. Cute.

It generates a lot of column inches though, eh? Keeps everybody real busy.

OK. Maybe you have lingering doubts. All those websites we listed as CIA Fakes couldn't possibly be run or influenced by the agency. Could they?

So, as the non-fake, actual journalist harping on and on about that not being Saddam, since 7 hours after they "caught" him, it gives me great pleasure to finally report that "Saddam" has just fired his lawyers.

This is the third and largest legal sacking in the Saddam trial. Which just about shreds any remaining credibility this PsyOp impostor had left. Fool me once?

Three months ago, to the day, on the record, here, we predicted a pretext would be found to pull the international legal team off the case. Now it's happened. Why?

Because it's one thing pawning off photo stills and video to a compliant media (alternative included), but it's quite another to have up to 1,500 nosy volunteer lawyers and 22 lead lawyers permanently poking around in the Saddam 'trial':

"The judge asked president Saddam Hussein about his family's statement that his legal team had been fired and he confirmed it," Khalil Dulaimi, the only lawyer authorized to represent the toppled Iraqi leader, told Reuters.

He said Saddam's family had revoked any right of attorney previously issued to any lawyers to represent Saddam. Dulaimi said he held four hours of talks with Saddam, who is in Iraqi legal custody but is in U.S. physical custody on the outskirts of Baghdad. He did not elaborate.

So Dulaimi is the only lawyer now. The only one. Or so says Dulaimi. "Saddam" doesn't say anything. Go ask Dulaimi. Reuters did.


THREE STRIKES YOU'RE RAT

Back in November of 2004, Saddam's family dismissed Mohammed al-Rashdan, a prominent Jordanian lawyer who led the defense team, accusing him of seeking fame.

On May, 23rd, 2005 we predicted they would fire the lot.

By early July, the family had elbowed out new chief lawyer Ziad al-Khasawneh, as we reported:

Al-Khasawneh accused Saddam's daughter of removing all files related to Saddam's defense from his office. "I was away in Libya when she did all that without my knowledge," he said.

He said Saddam's daughter was seeking to exchange the Jordan-based legal team with an international Emergency Committee for Iraq, which was announced last month in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. [Led by former Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad, co-chairs include Ramsey Clark, former Algerian President Ahmed Ben Bella and former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas.]

Raghad Saddam Hussein said the committee would not replace her father's legal team, but provide "political support."

Note that last line carefully. It's a committee, not a legal team. Yes, it's got Ramsey Clarke on it, but he has morphed from being a legal representative to just providing "political support". They "exchanged" a legal team which included Ramsey for a non-legal team which included Ramsey.

Nice piece of finessing. Looks like a legal team, smells like a rat.

And now they've initiated the largest legal redundancy in history by sacking the remaining 1,500 or so lawyers. Except of course for local boy al-Dulaimi.


WHAT SADDAM CONTROVERSY?

It's always has been important to get the truth out about Saddam. But that's not why I'm nailing the issue again here today. It's because the silence of the CIA Fakes on the "Saddam" issue is their Achilles heel. They know that too.

The issue today is not whether that is Saddam or not. The issue is why I'm the only one relentlessly banging on about it. The silence is deafening. That should speak volumes to any lingering doubts that we are for real.

Was 'Mormon Law' Rave Bust A PsyOp?

What the $*&! is going on in Utah?

Partygoers who attended a Utah County music rave over the wekend are still reeling, after foul-mouthed, police SWAT teams in military-style fatigues used guns and tear gas to close down the event.

Police in Utah County's 90% Mormon community, gave new meaning to the term "War on Drugs", by the clearly brutal and excessive force used to clear the crowd. But don't just take my word for it. Try these extracts from the rather conservative, Salt Lake Tribune:

As many as 90 police officers from several agencies, including SWAT members and major crimes investigators, stormed the DJ-driven dance party around 11:30 p.m. dressed in full SWAT gear and holding automatic weapons.

A helicopter announced the police presence as it crested a nearby hill and began shining a spotlight on the outdoor dance area, said 19-year-old Scott Benton of Logan.

"The cops just came in wearing full Army [camouflage]. It was basically brute force," Benton said. "I had a gun put in my face and was told to get out of there."

Alisha Matagi says she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when she was thrown to the ground, punched, kicked and handcuffed by police. Several party attendees told The Salt Lake Tribune that officers barked orders fraught with profanity, beat people to the ground and used their weapons to intimidate the crowd. Utah County Sheriff James Tracy said Monday that he had seen the video and called it an accurate representation of the bust.

In the video, the area where people had been dancing transforms into what looks like a battlefield with groups of officers surrounding ravers on the ground, guns drawn and assault dogs in tow. "I saw a girl tackled to the ground for no reason because she told them not to touch her. It was vicious," Benton said.

Party promotor Brandon Fullmer said he purchased a mass gathering permit through the Utah County Health Department about three weeks ago. Fullmer did not know that a similar permit, which requires a security plan and event details, needed to be acquired.

The question of whether the promoters legally required that second permit could come back to haunt the unapologetic police. Utah County Ordinance prohibits the assembly of more than 250 people without a permit. But the additional permit seems only to be required for events lasting "for twelve or more consecutive hours". PSYOP 101

Where this gets curiouser is that George Noory's, Coast to Coast AM show did a feature on the bust up. As one campaigner recounts:

"Last night I sent an email into George Noory, host of Coast to Coast AM late night talk show, regarding this mess in Utah. This show covers obscure stories, conspiracy stuff and government exposure. It's syndicated nationally on commercial and satellite radio and has millions of listeners every night. I'm seriously still in awe that he actually read my emails and did a piece about it."

He is not the only one in awe! It's not Noory's typical fare. What's he trying to do? Muscle in on Alex Jones' police state territory?

Joking aside, Amy Goodman's 'Democracy Now', more predictably also covered the dramatic incident. [Later in their show, they reported on the use of tazers against anti-war demonstrators attempting to shut down a military recruiting center in Pittsburgh, PA.]

Here's the kicker. All this comes just as an antiwar momentum is building around the recent protests by Cindy Sheehan and her supporters.

Is someone trying to send a message to potential anti-establishment protestors?

Let's say you want to set a "police state" tone to minimize opposition to the war, ahead of planned Fall antiwar protests. Let's say your buddies in Utah are only too willing to stage an over-the-top exhibition of police excess. Once the deed is done, you now need to spread the word of the event. Which is where your stooges among the CIA Fakes come in. They pump up the volume on the issue to ensure maximum spread of the PsyOp.

It's subtle intimidation, no more.

And it reminds me of the infamous incident in los Angeles, just after the establishment ignored the people's decision in the 2004 presidential election and installed Bush anyway.

A few days after the result of that stolen election was announced, on the evening of November 9, 2004 two armored tanks paid a visit to an anti-war protest in front of the federal building in Westwood. The tanks were quickly withdrawn, and official army sources claimed some unit has gotten "lost". But the incident made an impression on a young population still seething with disbelief at the election outcome.

To me, the latest incident has the same M.O.

The right kind of subtle intimidation by means of PsyOp, can be more effective than actual physical confrontation --which might provoke a more determined protest, and perhaps even wide public support for the protestors.

Expect a sheen of "how dare they infringe our civil liberties" in left-wing reaction to the raid. But the PsyOp boys don't care how your mind reacts in words. What matters to them is how your unconscious responds to images (-not words) of police brutality.

The level beneath words, is where many PsyOps are aimed.

Glaxo Caught Hiding Paxil/Seroxat Data

Drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline has been caught out submitting summary data to a British regulator, thus hiding details which show a much increased suicide risk associated with taking the SSRI drug Paxil(Seroxat).

The Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA) in the UK has banned SSRIs in children and adolescents, following an 18-month inquiry. However, it allowed use in adults, based in part on Paxil clinical trial data supplied by leading SSRI manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline.

But a newly-published study [abstract or pdf] reveals that the company did not submit the full detailed trial data to the regulator.

The Norwegian author of the report, Dr. Ivar Aursnes says GlaxoSmithKline provided a summary which added together suicide attempts and reports of patients feeling suicidal. That distorted the conclusions on the dangers of the drugs, says Dr Aursnes.

He obtained the original trial results from the Norwegian regulatory authority and found that the data shows that in 16 trials there were seven attempted suicides among(916) people taking Seroxat, compared to one among those(512) given a placebo.

The MHRA brushed off Dr Aursnes' attempts to alert them to the deception, prompting him to conduct further research, resulting in the new study. It concludes that "the increased suicidal activity seen in children and adolescents on certain antidepressant drugs may well be present in adults".

The findings will be seized on by lawyers suing GlaxoSmithKline. The mental health charity Mind said the results were "extremely worrying" and confirmed what it had been arguing for years. "The drugs regulators may well have caused lives to be lost," said Sophie Corlett, policy director of the charity.

"Mind's own research has revealed that 50 per cent of the people who contacted us to report a reaction to Seroxat had experienced feelings of wanting to self-harm or commit suicide, and 58 per cent of these people said they had not experienced these feelings before they started taking Seroxat."

The MHRA should immediately issue a warning to doctors; should reopen their inquiry into SSRIs and should ask hard questions about Glaxo's suppression of the damaging drug trials data. But will they...?

155 GIs Killed April to Aug by IED Bombs

Four US soldiers killed in Samarra yesterday brought to 31 the number of American lives taken by IEDs in August alone.

It's been one of the deadliest months for roadside bombings since the war started, at the end of the summer of the IED. Since April, 155 American soldiers have been killed by roadside bombs, more than double the number during the same period last year. The toll of 72 killed in June and July was the highest over a two-month period since the war began.

The casualties are a blow to a US army taskforce headed by Brigadier General Joseph Votel, which has failed to find ways to protect from the up to 700 roadside bombs a month.

The Iraqi resistance fighters are using shaped charges to increase the deadly effect of their ambushes. They are also reported to be triggering explosives by infrared lasers, thus bypassing electronic jammers used to block radio detonators.

Stop Press: WHITBY RETRACTS CLAIMS

'Eyewitness' Mark Whitby
It is now over three weeks since we asked if British police concocted an elaborate tale to cover the killing of Brazillian, Jean Charles de Menezes. Official police lies were bolstered by an outrageous television performance by claimed eyewitness Mark Whitby, who has now retracted his claims.

Earlier this week Britian's ITV reported that Menezes entered the Stockwell subway station at a normal walking pace --even stopping to pick up a newspaper before boarding a train and taking a seat-- and was wearing a light denim jacket when he was shot eight times in the head and once in the shoulder.

ITV News reported a quote from leaked secret documents by a member of the surveillance team. He said: "I grabbed the male in the denim jacket by wrapping both my arms around his torso, pinning his arms to his side. I then pushed him back on to the seat where he had been previously sitting."

Compare that account, to this BBC interview with Mark Whitby, just after the shooting:

"He had a baseball cap on and quite a sort of thickish coat - it was a coat you'd wear in winter, sort of like a padded jacket. He might have had something concealed under there, I don't know. But it looked sort of out of place with the sort of weather we've been having, the sort of hot humid weather.

"Basically looked like a cornered rabbit, a cornered fox. He looked absolutely petrified and then he sort of tripped, but they were hotly pursuing him, [they] couldn't have been any more than two or three feet behind him at this time and he half tripped and was half pushed to the floor and the policeman nearest to me had the black automatic pistol in his left hand. That tale is a tapestry of lies. Police were not hotly pursuing Menezes -who was wearing a lightweight denim jacket. It was not "padded"; "thickish"; "might have had something concealed"; "looked sort of out of place." Is Whitby laboring the point, or what?

And why mention which hand the policeman was holding the gun in? That's the sort of detail often drawn out in court testimony and usually missing from impromptu eyewitness statements.

WHITBY RETRACTS CLAIMS

So it comes as little surprise that in an interview today on South London News, Mark Whitby says his account of events was mistaken:

"I think the guy I saw being bundled out of the way might have been a surveillance officer who was following him... There was a mass of bodies and I saw a gun being lowered and I heard the shots... Mr de Menezes must have been ahead of the officers. The guy in the thick coat can't have been him."

But, what about Whitby's claims of hot pursuit of a man who looked "absolutely petrified" or like a "cornered rabbit". As his retraction shows, it is Whitby who is now a "cornered" liar.

The question is... what kind of liar? Was Whitby working to a security services agenda on a speedy damage limitation exercise? A fake 'eyewitness' wheeled out to feature on national televisionso as to generate a 'terrorist' spin to steer the immediate public reaction. Was he an intelligence operative?

His widely-reported, early account colored perceptions of what had happened in Stockwell tube station. As did the contemporaneous police insistence that Mr. Menezes was a person of interest to them before being killed.

As we asked weeks ago, what if the police's interest in Menezes, only arose after they realized they had just killed an entirely innocent Brazilian, and needed to quickly come up with some plausible justification to prevent a public relations meltdown for the 'War on Terror'?

Out of Gaza - and into Jerusalem

While the world watches the withdrawal from Gaza, Ariel Sharon is creating and expanding settlements in more strategic areas.

The feint is an old military trick - the general sends a section of his forces to distract the enemy, so the battalions heading for the real target meet little resistance. Television news all over the world are showing dramatic scenes of Israeli settlers in orange T-shirts being forced to leave the Gaza Strip, in what Prime Minister Ariel Sharon calls a "painful sacrifice" for peace.

8,200 settlers, will be removed, by force if necessary. Viewers will see Jewish settler women dragged kicking and screaming from land Israel has occupied since 1967.

But Sharon is an old general, a master of manoeuvres. While we are reporting the demise of the Gaza settlements, he is presiding over the creation and expansion of settlements in more strategically important areas, where few are watching. 3,981 new "housing units" are under construction in the occupied West Bank. At the same time, the Israeli government is building apartments and infrastructure on the outskirts of Jerusalem, to consolidate its hold over the city both Israelis and Palestinians claim as their capital.... And so it is with great honour that we nominate Ms. Amanda Keller, reputed long-term girlfriend of 9/11 'mastermind', Mohammed Atta for the award in the category of 'Best Supporting Actress in a 9/11 Coverup.'

But that's no guarantee she will win this busy category in which she faces a lot of stiff competition. Especially as her leading man, who plays a reputed terrorist, was written out of the movie very early on -leaving Amanda to carry the action forward on her own.

If you've been following the story so far [Part 1 & 2], you know that an 'Orgy of Evidence' was deliberately built into the 9/11 operation, as a smokescreen. This meticuluously planned evidence has been a fountain of time-consuming false trails, which has also provided the CIA Internet Fakes with an array of 'talking points', to fill countless hours of internet radio, articles, blogs and books. It's been a red herring cornucopia.

Among the most legendary of all these 'discoveries' by internet researchers, was the tracking down of Amanda Keller, by Daniel Hopsicker. In an exclusive to-camera interview --at an 'undisclosed location'-- she paints a stunning portrait of a cocaine-sodden Atta; strewing money about; partying and meeting shadowy drug contacts in Key West.

As Hopsicker comments in an introduction to one set of clips from that interview, it's just like something out of an episode of Miami Vice.

Which is the very point on which we now question the touting of the Keller story as some kind of 9/11 motherlode which disproves the official line that Atta was a simple suicidal fanatic.

DISCONNECT THE BUTTONS

It now seems a long, long time ago, but it was on 4th October, 2001 --in the second of our investigative articles on the attacks that I wrote something which is just as apt today as it was then, just 21 days after 9/11:

"Let's stop reacting and stop overreacting. Does the WTC attack feel like a movie? It does? Well of course it does! It has been specifically written as a movie script. Are you getting the picture? You are witnessing a cathartic and intense psychological operation. It is designed to alter your perceptions and hence your politics. It's a classic PsyOp.

It's a made-for-TV movie with all the cliché blockbuster elements. It has mayhem, evil warlords and subtle hints of a military coup. It has terrorists who wrestle for control of Flight 93 with Die Hard have-a-go Bruce Willis clones.

This entire sequence of: hijack; first plane; second plane; Pentagon ;WTC collapse; phone calls from the planes; copy of the Koran; more attempted hijackings; arrests; plucky passengers; etc., etc., has been scripted by a crew of cynical planners...."

These people are in the business of pushing your emotional buttons. And they didn't stop pushing them just because the dust had settled over the WTC complex. The 9/11 PsyOp was planned to extends years after the event itsef. They've been pushing emotional buttons ever since. That's how they got G.W. Bush re-elected.

The mainstream right media and the left fakes were both pushing everybody's buttons so hard on the threat of a Bush-orchestrated, pre-election 'terror' attack that we left it to Kerry's lawyers to cover the bases on simple election theft. And we know how that worked out.

That Bush would surely steal 2004 exactly as he stole 2000 --in the vote tally-- was a no-bainer. That's why the Tommy Franks' distraction warning of martial law if terrorists did attack. They pushed our emotional buttons. It took our eyes off the ball. It worked.

If we are to get anywhere decoding the truth of 9/11, we must learn the lesson and disconnect our buttons.

THE FINE LINE

The other key point in my 2001 comments was that reference to the 9/11 PsyOp being like a cliché-ridden B-movie script. In a way, it was a rerun of the infamous terror-inspiring Orson Wells radio broadcast. It seems farcical that people actually bought those fake news reports of mayhem following an alien invasion of the U.S.A. --but they did.

It was a product of its time, no matter how farcical and laughable that fabricated report now seems in retrospect, these many years later.

The same can be said of Amanda Keller's performance in the filmed interview presented by Hopsicker. It was a product of its time, no matter how farcical and laughable that fabricated report now seems in retrospect.

Because, like those lurid tales of rampaging Martians, the Keller interview is by now side-splittingly funny. How she managed to keep a straight face throughout, is surely tribute to the iron acting will of a true pro.

But like the greatest comedy, it treads such a fine line that you only catch on to how exactly funny it is, when someone else laughs or points it out to you. It's the same fine line trodden by Mel Brooks in his over-the-top comedy 'The Producers' [aka Springtime for Hitler], starring Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder.

In the pivotal scene of the movie, Brooks shows us a theatre audience --their emotional buttons fully pushed-- struck dumb by the sight of an onstage, prancing Adolph Hitler -until someone laughs out loud and turns the doomed stageplay into a hit comedy.

Viewed as a piece of straight acting, Keller's performance seems earnest, even heartfelt. But, viewed as a hilarious attempt to paint Atta as a B-movie-style 'Miami Vice' villan, it just gets funnier and funnier the more times you see it. It's a hand-wringing, chain-smoking comedic performance.

If you have seen some of the early Keller video clips before, this later compilation will wow you. Earlier segments published by Hopsicker featured a restrained performance by Keller which lent credibility to the material. But in this later compilation, Keller shows off her subtle comedic star quality.

Actually they can leave it online. It's all part of the tactic I wrote about previously. For over a year, the credibility of the 9/11 internet 'heroes' has been is being deliberately notched lower month by month. Carefully undermined to drive 9/11 skeptics away in disillusion and to lower the image of 'conspiracy theories' with the public.

They pulled the same trick to drive off stolen election campaigners, when Bev Harris' and a pre-planned implosion on Airamerica's Randi Rhodes Show. Start with good material to boost credibility and get activists on board, then nosedive to oblivion. A tired tactic by now, but still reasonably effective. Expecially if people are not aware of the gameplan.

Which you now are.


THE IN YOUR FACE PATSY

Script Extract. True Lies (1994) :

Gib: What?
Harry: This jumps from page 9 to page 11.
Gib: [looks at paper] Must be a typo.

So who is lying and why? What is really going on here beneath the spin, with this Keller story? According to Hopsicker -nothing at all. He's happy to buy Keller's tale and sell it on.

Hopsicker says 9/11 was a high-stakes drug war attack, in a Bush v. Bin Ladin battle for control of the international drug trade. And he says this interpetation of events is totally consistent with hints from Sibel Edmonds' --based on her time in the FBI translation unit. But Edmonds could be called the 'Dog-Whistleblower', because due to a court gag order, her whistleblowing is thus far, well beyond the range of human hearing.

And an opportunistic drug war strike doesn't even come close to explaining a fraction of the slick 9/11 operation, nor why three steel-framed buildings then fell straight down. We see many clear signs of a high-powered PsyOp on 9/11. These don't square with a drug turf war. That dog don't even leave the kennell. Hopsicker's insistence seems inexplicable.

So let's take view more common among 9/11 skeptics -which sees Atta as a patsy, pre-positioned to take the blame for 9/11. You babysit such a patsy as if he were a Ming Vase. In classic patsy theory, his behaviour would be managed to show an image consistent with his being a fanatical suicide attacker. He would be keeping just high enough a profile to leave the right impression.

Instead we have reports --from other than just Keller-- of parties, public arguments and even plotting in public. Not to mention unashamed consumption of alcohol.

Well, perhaps he was under orders to get noticed -and then some. Why?

What possible benefit would offset the severe weakening of the 'Islamic fanatics' cover story? And why on Earth would Atta be let hang out with a woman whom Hopsicker hints he is being charitable in describing as a lingerie model. It blows the 'fanatics' cover out of the water. What is going on here?


TRUE LIES OF 9/11

The early 90's minor-hit Schwartzenneger movie vehicle"True Lies", featured a spy pretending to be a workaday regular guy(Arnie); a regular guy pretending to be a spy; and the woman between them(Jamie Lee Curtis) --who is married to the real spy but doesn't know it and having an affair with the fake one --not realizing that either. It also controversially featured Arab terrorists bent on nuking the USA.

Arnie didn't win any awards. Despite some punchy one-liners, he only rose a notch above wooden. Jamie was... well, ...Jamie. Which is: good enough to make it all just watchable.

The movie finds echoes in Atta and Amanda Keller. Mohammed Atta's stern visage is a new icon of woodenness. The now silent actor left it to Amanda to do all the real acting. Was Atta her minder? Or was Amanda the spy-minder for Mohammed? Who is fake and who is for real?

The answer comes from understanding the underlying design of 'Tabloid 9/11' : the plucky passengers of Flight 93; the Bush speech amid the WTC rubble; the turbanned Osama. Recall that all this is a movie. It has to be.

The shared cultural ground of the tabloid, celluloid movie world makes 9/11 communicable as a cultural zeitgeist. 9/11 is by necessity a tabloid movie. As tabloid as the catchphrase 'War on Terror'. 9/11 could only be sold to the masses at the lowest common denominator of mass psychology. The quintessentially propagandist themes must be rooted in a cartoonish movie fantasy.

So if that is what the supposedly staid mainstream is like, the conspiracy theories must be inflated so as to be far, far wilder --least they stand out as sensible. If the conspiracy theories were to be intellectually superior, the intellectuals --particularly left intellectuals-- would naturally gravitate to them. A dangerous development for those who staged it all.

Now you know why Alex Joes is so over the top. He scares off the left. Now you know why French researchers waded in with the 'Hunt the Boeing' angle. Or why the big focus on a supposed missile attached to a pod under the plane which struck the second WTC tower. Sensational claims. The more the merrier.

The best way to avoid substantial questions about the 9/11 events is to overlay the issues with plenty of additional 'sensationalized' diversionary issues. These sensational elements were built into the 9/11 operation from the start. Which has allowed the CIA Internet Fakes to selectively construct their own sensational 9/11 conspiracy theory.

Now you know why Mohammed Atta was found, so sensationally, to be dating a... stripper! And why Amamda Keller had even further sensational tales to tell about Mohammed. The lurid tales she recounts are fully consistent with CIA objectives as to how 9/11 'conspiracy theories' are presented to the world.

We are getting somewhere.

IN SEARCH OF THE REAL MOHAMMED

Early mainstream media reports said that Pakistani intelligence had wired funds to Mohammed Atta, and he was soon credited as the operational mastermind of the attacks. So when Daniel Hopsicker's first reports about Atta are published, it seems like a breakthrough that holes have quickly emerged in one central aspect of the official story.

The JFK conspiracy theory featured a key patsy, Lee Harvey Oswald --who never lived to defend himself. History repeats, so they say. And by playing into our expectations, this can be exploited. It's a technique known as 'framing': the subtle construction of a context which seems appropriate. And so, the conspiracy theory media have bought into the idea of Atta as a kind of modern Oswald.

But, what hard evidence connects this drug-linked, flight school circus in Florida to the actual attacks on the day of 9/11? A passport found in the street? An easily faked CCTV image? FBI assurances that these were the culpits?

Let's reverse the psychology. Suppose the whole Mohammed Atta, Florida flight schools story is a prepared package. As you unwrap this package you find items that were placed there earlier. Are you discovering things? Or are you are being led to find what you half-expected?

When Atta and the other alleged hijackers turn out to have links to figures connected to international drug trafficing, is that a breakthrough finding or just more breadcrumbs leading us further down the Atta/Florida/Drugs trail? Leading us to Al-Qaida and the Balkans. Leading us to Afghanistan. To the heroin trade.

The biggest crime scene of 9/11 is undoubtedly the World Trade Center. Yet here we are discussing the finer details of the drug trade thousands of miles away. It's sensational, but is it relevant? Or is it just our buttons being pushed?

Is this is 'True Lies' twice over? What if Atta and Amanda were an intelligence tag team. A 9/11 Laurel and Hardy. Foil and counterfoil.

Does that explain their very public rows? Yes. Does that explain Atta's over-the-top behaviour? Yes. Does that explain Keller's wild tales about Atta? Yes. Does that explain why Atta ran around Florida playing attack mastermind? Yes. Does that explain why he is not around any more? Yes. Does that explain why the mainstream fingered him early on? Yes. Does that explain why he was out of circulation for years? Yes.

And does all that explain why we are down in Florida, thousands of miles from the major crime scene? Yes, because the whole thing is a diversion. With an outer layer aimed at the mainstream and an inner layer targetted at the alternative media.

If that's true, it might help explain somethng that happened just after the London bombings. We know that the real perpetrators of such attacks don't just pin the blame on a few alleged terrorists. They also like to bolster the 'Muslims-did-it' case with spurious claims of responsibility and suitable rethoric from Muslims expressing their admiration for the attack. It helps outrage public opinion and reinforce the war divide.

In such a classic manouver, Muslim stooges are often wheeled out to make the inflammatory statements.

So, here's our July 21st report about such an interview:

"In an extraordinary interview with CNN, Mohammed Atta's father has praised the London bombings. During the extremely inflammatory interview --which sounds suspiciously like the work of a professional provocateur-- Mohammed el-Amir vowed to do anything within his power to encourage more attacks. He even demanded $5,000 for another interview --which he promised to donate towards carrying out another terror attack.

"Was all this being hammed-up for the camera? CNN's camera, by the way. Maybe this is a good time to rethink exactly what role Mohammed Atta and his father are playing in all this?

Which is an interesting development, to say the least.

EPILOG

It's time people asked themselves why a more skeptical view of Florida's flying circus has not already been articulated by leading conspiracy investigators. Are we supposed to just take Amanda Keller and Sibel Edmonds at face value?

In our first 9/11 investigative article, published seven days after the attacks, we asked why the South Tower fell first? Due to the angle at which the plane came in, the bulk of the jet fuel punched through the corner of the building and emerged to explode in the giant fireball we all saw. By comparison, the North Tower was struck earlier and took a full fuel load directly into the building.

The wrong tower fell first. And that pokes a big hole in the official explanation about raging internal fires causing the collapse. Funny how the conspiracy media never picked up on that point.

Issues like that seem more relevant than an uncorroborated tale about nasty Mohamed Atta killing all of Amanda Keller's kittens. But maybe we are just not with the plot. If the CIA Fakes network is screaming about stuff, it must be important, eh?

In the face of the well-organized coverup of 9/11, we are starving for breakthroughs. That makes us all potential suckers for a few tossed breadcrumbs.

Or so it seems to us, anyway.
But we're a bit wierd like that.

Dirty Tricks to Stop the Left in Germany

Ahead of the upcoming German election, suspicious foot-in-mouth statements by a conservative politician hint of an establishment trying to contain the growing leftist trend among voters opposed to the neo-liberal cast of German and EU economic policies.

Edmund Stoiber, the head of Bavaria's regional government in southern Germany, earlier this month lashed out at east Germans, saying "only the stupidest cows would choose themselves as their butcher". He called them "frustrated people" who were "not as clever" as his native Bavarians.

The criticism was aimed at the 33 per cent of east German voters who have thrown their support behind a new radical "Left Party". But the remarks have embarrassed Angela Merkel, leading light of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), sister party to Mr Stoiber's CSU.

A recent poll saw Merkel's Christian Democrats at 42 per cent; Gerhard Schroeder's Social Democrats -currently in power- at 29 per cent; and the radical left alliance Linksbuendnis at 11 per cent.

Schroeder siezed on the opportunity Saturday as he opened his party's campaign for next month's elections. "Our duty is not to divide our people but bring them together," he said. Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer of Schroeder's partners, the Greens weighed in also, denouncing what he called "the rebuilding of the [Berlin] Wall in people's minds."

And Schröder also sought to boost his electoral chances with a waring to President Bush against going to war against Iran. That contrived Iranian 'nuclear crisis' seems in part designed to give Schroeder a chance to replay the 'independent Germany' facade which saved his party's bacon in the 2002 elections.

The German establishment has other ideas to stop the march of the Left. Earlier this month, lawyers from the German Federal Constitutional Court said that the Left has misused federal electoral laws in some German states, leading to fears that states may prevent the Linksbuendnis from taking part in September’s vote.

Many Germans are skeptical about the economic policies advocated by the CDU, the SPD and the Green Party. Trade unions, workers and parties from the Left don't want the renowned German welfare state to be dismantled.

But with a poll showing 39 per cent of German citizens would accept a conservative CDU and Shcroeder SPD "Grand Coalition", the latest conservative foot-in-mouth incident may have been designed to bury the chance of a conservative win and finesse a Schroeder-led coalition into power to block the Left.

It looks like Edmund Stoiber, like John Kerry in the U.S., may be playing politics to the agenda of those who manipulate the political options on offer --rather than allow the political results the voters want.

Six GIs Killed in Iraq -one a suicide?

Six U.S. soldiers have died in roadside bombings and in a shooting which may have been a suicide.

Three of the soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing late Friday north of Baghdad. Another soldier was killed Saturday also in a roadside bombing, in western Baghdad. One soldier on a patrol was killed Sunday in a blast west of Baghdad.

In a brief statement from Baghdad, the military said that another soldier was found dead Friday of a gunshot wound.

The military said an investigation was underway and did not say where the soldier was found or if an attack was suspected in the soldier's death. Many previous deaths reported in this way have subsequently turned out to have been self-inflicted.

Some 56 percent of Americans say some or all US troops should be withdrawn now.

Every now and then, along comes a new political leader, and you learn a great deal about the hidden political world -from figuring out why he/she rose to power.

There's a party upcoming in New York, at the U.N. --where Iran's new hardline president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will be getting the red carpet treatment. And why not! It's only fitting, for the man who helped burn the election chances of Democratic President Jimmy Carter, thus ushering in the reign of the first cowboy president, his highness, Ronald Reagan.

So, no wonder the current bequeathed holder of the Reagan cowboy hat, George W.B., has casually dismissed State Department rumblings about denying a visa to the Iranian leader. "We're still investigating allegations and/or this guy's potential involvement in the hostage crisis," Bush said.

Potential involvement will do just fine, to help cement Ahmadinejad's revolutionary nous. A widely-circulated photo claims to show him with a U.S. hostage. But it's not Ahmadinejad, not unless he has had a good nose job. Nevertheless, his involvement in revolutionary, Iranian student politics at the time is sufficient for the launching of this new bad-guy foil for leaders of the 'international community'.

Ahmadinejad's most striking achievement to date is that he hasn't got any striking achievements. Not unless you count being installed as Mayor of Tehran by a conservative alliance, on the back of a paltry 12% turnout. He was a nobody when he won that position --only as recently as May, 2003. Next stop the presidency.

This was first time an Iranian presidential contest had used two rounds of voting. Which is a great way of finessing into power, a nobody who could never garner enough support in a single poll to defeat the 'moderate' Rafsanjani --otherwise favourite to win.

Ahmadinejad's 'election' in Iran was merely a 'democratic' window-dressing on the calculated installation of a low-level, but loyal and reliable political hack as Iran's new secular leader.

All rise for President Nobody.

Installing Ahmadinejad was a piece of cake. Iran's seemingly democratic election was deeply compromised from the start.

All presidential candidates must first be approved by Iran's Guardian Council. Thus, before anybody had even bothered to 'vote', the list of presidential candidates had been whittled down from around 1,000 to only seven contestants. Lucky guys.

After the first round of the election, the early partial results put reformist, Mehdi Karroubi ahead. But the final declaration had Rafsanjani barely edging out Ahmadinejad. Karroubi complained that the Revolutionary Guards Corps and militia had helped tweak the result. He even alleged that Mojtaba Khamenei --son of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei-- was a key conspirator. Reformist newspapers had their distribution halted for airing the issue.

It's well overdue that we focus on Iran's supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Khamenei --whose political style makes the last Catholic Pope look like a radical. As was confirmed by what Ahmadinejad did. Immediately after he won, Ahmadinejad became the first Iranian president to kiss Khamenei's hand after an election.

Which shows who continues to be the real 'Supreme' power in Iran: Ayatollah Khamenei. Post-kiss photos show him leading Ahmadinejad by the hand like a junior.

And thus we come to the real issue: why was President Nobody engineered into place?

The answer lies hidden in the salt flats Eastern Iran. Along with equipment jettisoned by Jimmy Carter's ill-fated bid to rescue American hostages seized in the 1979 storming of the U.S. embassy in Tehran.

Those 444 'Groundhog Days' of the hostage crisis doomed Carter's re-election bid. It was a calculated sabotage. It ended with the release of the hostages --just minutes after Reagan was inaugurated. Which provided the new president with a perfect, feel-good launch pad for his first term.

You don't even have to ponder "who benefits"?

A Star is Born

It's clear who benefited: the Reaganite Republicans. It's also clear that the actions of Iran's hostage-taking Islamic Revolutionary Guards were scripted for them --on stage notes prepared by the unseen authors of this political theatre.

If you haven't read part 1 of this article, "The Iran Invasion Drivel" --you may still be under the impression that Iran is some kind of enemy of the United States. Let the relative peace in the Tehran-dominated south of Iraq dissuade you of that notion.

Be informed also by the recent power shift in Baghdad, when the secular Mayor was frogmarched out of office at gunpoint by the Tehran-backed Badr corps --the military wing of the Shi'ite-controlled Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq.

The Badr corps is Iraq's version of Iran's Revolutionary Guard and similarly grew out of the Iranian dissident community headquartered in London --the self-same world capital not long ago visited by Iraq's Shi'ite leader, Grand Ayatollah Al-Sistani --for 'medical reasons'. Paris being another world capital worth our attention --home to Ayatollah Khomeini in exile.

The Iranian revolution has been run by these western power-brokers for the start. The recent Iranian custodianship of most of Iraq is just a franchise opportunity bestowed upon them by their elite G8 handlers.

And so, another holder of Reagan's legacy rules the U.S. --poised to benefit from a new theatrical production launched with the elevation of Ahmadinejad. A staged drama which is already painting him as President Somebody Awful. President New Islamic Ogre.

Domestically in Iran, a new hardline president is a winning strategy to rein in the reformers with their dreams of actual democracy, while also building street cred with the (once cannon-fodder) masses of Iran --to boost a puppet regime dancing to a foreign tune.

Strategically, a hardline regime has always been just what the doctor ordered (pun intended) to restrain not only Iran, but many other muslim countries. And internationally, a new Islamic spectre is an ideal opportunity for more diversionary, sanctimonious, hand-wringing by our own oh-so-pious Mullahs in the international community.

So, don't burst out laughing when you hear U.S. and European politicians demand that the Iranian hardliners quit murdering and imprisoning reformers --after they themselves quietly ordered the latest hardline victory, precisely to keep the nascent Iranian democratic impetus firmly under the clerical thumb.

And, don't burst out laughing if you hear again Sy Hersh, or Scott Ritter utter dire warnings that the U.S. is planning to invade Iran --when they and other CIA Internet Fakes are just trying to do their best to mask the glaringly suspicious quiet in Tehran-run southern Iraq.

Finally, don't burst out laughing when you hear Donald Rumsfeld complain that Iranians are letting arms get to the Iraqi resistance, or George Bush say he is "deeply suspicious" of Tehran's intentions. --when the G8 are the ones who tell the Iranian leadership what their intentions are, in the first place.

Don't laugh. You'll only give the game away! Shhhhhsh!

Disinfo: The Iran Invasion Drivel

It's hard to find a story more totally drivel than the idea that the U.S. is about to invade Iran. The whole CIA Fakes network has been having a hissy fit about this for months.

Back in January, 2005 Seymour Hersh kicked off the initial 'Oh my God' in his article 'The Coming Wars'. Then Scott Ritter fanned the flames in April with his prediction on disinfo site AlJazeera.com that by June, 2005 the U.S. was set to invade Iran. Recently, on Counterpunch.org, Gary Leupp told us that "Reports about the recent flurry of Iran-Iraq diplomacy must shock the neocons."

There are real good reasons why this is all drivel --besides the fact that the sources include Hersh and Ritter.

First, all this hype started just as the U.S. was getting mangled by the Iraq resistance. Which hardly put them in a position to open a new front twice the size. Actually, the short-term purpose of the Iran PsyOp was to camoflage the U.S. military weakness under a smokescreen of bluster about a new invasion.

But the big reason Iran is not going to be attacked is that it is no threat at all.

Iran is on the team, fer crikes sake! Our team. Sheesh! And this deeper reality is being carefully smokescreened by the ongoing deception campaign where latest developments are:

Donald Rumsfeld just warned that weapons from Iran have been found in Iraq and it had been "unhelpful" of Tehran not to have prevented them from crossing the border.

And George Bush continues to position the U.S. as the world's sherrif by "warily" welcoming signs Iran was ready to restart talks on its atomic power program, saying he was "deeply suspicious" of Tehran's intentions.

What a load of laughable bovine excrement!

Why do you think that there is no trouble in the Tehran-dominated Shia south of Iraq? Why do you think the U.S. invaded Iraq in the first place? Because they knew there would be no problem in the south. That's why the British got the easy job of occupying the region --while the GI's were sent north to demolish the Sunni, who were the real target of the invasion.

Yes, there were a few hotheads in the south, but nothing the combined wits of Sistani and Al-Sadr couldn't carefully defuse with the help of some well-timed, persuasive, military muscle from their friends in high places. Our high places.

The Iraqi Shia leadership have been in the bag from the get-go.

Because the Iranians are U.S./British/French tools in the region for a long, long time. The British and the French have been in on the whole Iranian revolution from the start. In the 1970's, Ayatollah Khomeini wasn't staying in Paris to see the nice pictures in the Louvre.

Our boys run Iran like they used to run the old Iraq -by means of intelligence-controlled stooges. That's why it was so easy to arrange the Iran-Iraq war.

A lot of people in Iraq and Iran are wise to all this.

Just don't expect the CIA Fakes to tell you about it.

Sherlock Holmes would have figured out the 'New Improved Saddam' caper straight away. Because he once solved a puzzling case by using a very similar analysis.

It was a murder mystery. And the key insight by Holmes was not based on something he found -but on something he didn't find. The house where the murder took place had a guard dog. But as Holmes pointed out: on the night in question, the dog didn't bark.

Therefore the murderer was known to the dog.

In the case of Saddam, it is the CIA Internet Fakes who haven't been barking about the clear evidence that the new Saddam isn't the same guy as old Saddam.

We have been howling about it since about 6 hours after they 'captured' New-Improved-Saddam. We wrote a slew of well researched articles about it. But somehow these articles never got linked by the Fakes.

Sure, they have linked to others stories I write. They have to --in order to maintain credibility. But not this story. Which is surprising for a conspiracy media who are usually all over this type of story.

For example, when it comes to Osama, they are all all over the issue that he is long dead. And with Al-Zarqawi, they are all over the story that the endless mainstream Al-Zarqawi hype is war propaganda.

But when it comes to New-Saddam, not a whimper. Despite the relentless 'Saddam-this', 'Saddam-that' mainstream PsyOp stories, they play dumb and hope you swallow it hook, line and sinker.

Here's the circus in action:

• No Date Set for Saddam's Trial ;
• Saddam lawyers threaten boycott ;
• Saddam grabbed $1 billion ;

• Chemical Ali to incriminate Saddam.

And that's the propaganda themes for just the last couple of weeks!

This has been going on for 18 months. Still not a single public appearance. No once. Not even when he was captured. Only video and still-photos.

It's Virtual Saddam. But, try Googling "saddam double" or "saddam impostor" and see the woeful conspiracy site coverage. A few articles -long on speculation and short on deep analysis.

So, why are the CIA Fakes so coy about New-Saddam that they risk blowing their cover?

Because they want to take no risks in the case of the Saddam PsyOp. It too valuable a propaganda tool to have this fake guy stand fake trial.

In the case of Osama, U.S. PsyOps want everyone to think he is dead anyway. They want to bury the supposed initiator of 9/11. In the case of al-Zarqawi, undermining the PsyOp in the alternative media isn't affecting the relentless use of this bogeyman in the mainstream.

But, if the conspiracy media were banging away about New-Saddam --like they have on Osama and Al-Zarqawi-- it would eventually filter up to mainstream journalists already suspicious about the lack of public appearance. Ooopps.

So the CIA Fakes can't touch our Saddam analysis with a forty-foot pole. It's much, much too risky to the PsyOp. After all, that's why they have CIA Fake websites. To cover up really sensitive stuff like the truth about Saddam.

Even if it shows them all up for the silent guard dogs they are.

For most people, the biggest problem with current events is figuring out what is really going on behind the news. For example, how can we tell if Patrick Fitzgerald is for real in his investigation of the Valerie Plame leak?

The answer is illuminated by looking across previous issues as varied as: the G8 London bombings; the Downing St. minutes; the 'stolen' presidential election of 2004; and even the 9/11 attacks. Perhaps that sounds like too wide a net, but it's not. [Is this?: 1 2 3]

Because, the key to working out what is really going on is to be far enough away from the trees to be able to see the wood. In other words, to develop a macroscopic overview of how many events fit together, and confirm this by microscopic analysis of individual events.

There are interesting overlaps between all these events. One is an overlap of people.

Paging Tony Blair

Congressman John Conyers and campaigning lawyer, Jon Bonifaz each played a starring role in the political theatre over both the Downing St. memo and the stolen election. Conyers convened special hearing on both issues and Bonifaz made impassioned speeches at both hearings.

Both issues tanked. The stolen election never made it to the mainstream and the Downing St. memo got eclipsed by those London bombs which coincided with a summit of G8 leaders.

Just bad luck for the left? ....
Or good planning by some other entity? Let's see.
There are more overlaps. Much more.

At that Conyers Downing St. hearing, Congresswoman Maxine Waters said she and others were 'hitting the streets' on the issue. Ray McGovern said 'virtual panic' by planners of the Iraq invasion had led to a decision to fake incriminating WMD evidence against Saddam. Talk of impeaching president George W. Bush was thick in the air.

The hearing was also addressed by Congresswomen Barbara Lee, and Sheila Jackson Lee. A rally in support was headlined by Medea Benjamin, Co-Founder of Global Exchange (and Code Pink), and by William Rivers Pitt, of Progressive Democrats of America.


Paging John Kerry

This troupe of political actors work well together, considering their previous role in the semi-official, congressional hearings on the 'Stolen Election'. Conyers, Waters, both Congresswomen Lee, and Bonifaz had the centerstage then also.

The leading non-Democrats in the affair were the Green Party's, David Cobb and Libertarian, Michael Badnarik --the former fronting many of the key legal actions in Ohio which the Kerry campaign later coyly cojoined. Speaking of fronting, William Rivers Pitt acted as the link man between the Kerry campaign and activists on the internet forum, Democratic Underground.

By the way, the issue of whether the election was stolen was kicked off in large measure by an early, pre-result Zogby poll. The poll had called the election for Kerry and caused the initial disquiet over the validity of the declared result.

And, now the overlaps go on.


Paging Mohammed Atta

Back in October, 2004 the group 911Truth.org led a coalition which issued a statement critical of the Kean Commission report into 9/11 intelligence failures. The alliance called for deeper investigation of some 9/11 issues.

Among those signing up to that call were Michael Badnarik, David Cobb, Ray McGovern, Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans and Global Exchange's Kevin Danaher. Cited as evidence of public disquiet on the issue was again a Zogby poll. This one showed that 66% of New Yorkers wanted a new 9/11 investigation.

Three further overlaps are worth very special mention.

• First overlap: Pentagon whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg was another who signed on to that 911Truth statement. Besides his recent comradeship with 9/11 whistleblower, Sibel Edmonds (Edmonds is a whistleblower who can't whistle. She is legally barred from doing so.), Ellsberg is previously legendary for his association with the fall of Richard Nixon -under threat of impeachment.
  
  
• Second overlap: Former ambassador Joe Wilson, husband of Valerie Plame, also addressed Conyers' Downing St hearing. And thus, that Plame connection brings us right back to Patrick Fitzgerald --and the question of whether a new 'Watergate' is in the offing --with implications of another impeachment.
  
  
• Quirky, strange-but-true overlap: Signing on to the 911Truth statement was Fred Burks, a presidential interpreter for Bush, Clinton, Cheney, and Gore. (It's quite an interesting list of signatories.)

All the above have been overlaps of people. A small group of people without whom the political left in the U.S. might entirely politically dormant on key controversial issues of our time.

Spam, Spam, Spam

But there is something else connecting all these issues: the Internet.

Mainstream media coverage of these issues has been slight or disparaging. But the internet has been the essential infrastructure of organization and information in all cases. 9/11 skepticism is an internet phenomenon; the stolen election issue was fought mainly on the internet; Downing St was ignored by the mainstream and championed by bloggers.

The internet is important. Politically important in these e-times. That's why George Soros has pumped money into the internet action-group MoveOn.org. And that's why the political importance of the internet is central to our recent article entitled 'The CIA's Internet Fakes.'

And so, we come to a one final overlap which at last brings in the G8 London bombings -unmentioned since early in this article.

It's a good place to begin making sense of all this, because it introduces a chilling overlap of political technique.


The Protest that Bombed

The Al-Qaida terrorists who were blamed[framed] for carrying out on the London bombings must surely have demonstrated the most exquisitely-timed, politically-counterproductive atrocity of modern times.

The clear political beneficiaries of the bombs, were the G8 leaders gathered a few hundred miles away in Gleneagles, Scotland. It was a propaganda coup for the world's self-appointed super-policemen.

Two of those leaders, Tony Blair and George Bush, were on the ropes with their voters over their continuing occupation of Iraq. Furthermore, they and the rest of the G8 were facing a horde of demonstrators who represented millions more around the world pressuring the G8 for a fair deal on international trade and debt relief for Africa.

The bombs turned the G8 from bad cops to good cops in an instant. The bombs gave Bush and Blair (fronting for the G8) a new reason for continuing the war. The bombs sent packing the huge left-wing horde symbolicaly led by Sir Bob Geldof and Bono --with their globally-supported demands relegated to the political backburner. For them, the timing of the bombs was desperately bad luck. If you believe in bad luck.

On the other hand, removing the Bono-style, rose-tinted glasses for a moment, it was much more likely a classic of cynical, ruthless geopolitical manipulation by G8 leaders who include a secret policeman(Putin) and the son of a secret policeman(Bush).

The chilling political technique, we hinted at earlier was used, not once -but twice. Twice in the one event.

The global campaign on debt relief was political trap from the start. The technique works like this:

Just as in military matters, you never fight an enemy on ground that doesn't suit you. You manouver your enemy into a landscape as disadvantageous as possible. Then you meet and defeat. Similarly, in Machiavellian political manouvering, you don't wait for an issue to get to the point where it is a problem. Well before it gets to that point, you meet the issue head on --but on grounds of your choosing.

Now, the issue of global equity is a problem for an imperial G8 determined on colonial-style exploitation.

So let's say they know in advance that London will be bombed. What better way to meet the issue than by cynically raising hopes in advance, in the sure knowledge these hopes will be dashed, by a bombing which will also reinforce the G8-backed War on Terror? A double-whammy of psychological warfare which serves the short term war support issue and the long term global equity issue.

If that thought is too much for you, stop reading long articles like this and go back to comics.

For the rest of us, the next question is this: can we see signs of the same cynical technique being applied elsewhere?

Unfortunately, we can. Not once -but twice. Twice in the one event. A double-whammy again.

Fool me once...

The 'defeat' of John Kerry in the 'stolen' U.S. presidential election --which in advance had raised such high hopes on the left in the U.S.-- shattered the left psychologically and nipped the U.S. anti-war movement in the bud. So... what if you knew in advance that Kerry would loose?

And let's say you knew that -partly by arrangement with Mr. Kerry, and partly by means of being able to tweak the electronic voting system in the U.S. to ensure a Bush victory. Therefore you know you will send packing a horde of left-wing voters symbolically led by John Kerry, the pied piper of the losing team.

But you still have a problem. The hard-core left activists will not slump off as readily. And they know that you control the electronic votes. So chances are they will immediately start making noise about all that and might spoil the illusion of democracy. So, what to do?

The answer is tactically brilliant. Why not dupe the left twice --using the same tatic and the same person? If the broad mass of voters could be suckered into backing Kerry --only to be stunned by the betrayal, then why not pull the same stunt immediately afterwards on the hard-core activists who remain.

Seed their doubts using a Zogby poll and some provocateurs. Get the plastic John Edwards to make an election night promise that "every vote will be counted." Have the Kerry campaign make ambiguous moves that indicate he is going to challege the result. But then, after weeks of raised expectations, have him fail to deliver. You can't really challenge an elction if the challenger won't challenge, so in the let-down, the issue will fizzle out.

Another double-whammy of psychological warfare which solves a short term electoral issue and shoves to the backburner the issue of your long term ability to steal elections at will.

As I wrote on 3rd November, 2004:

Every vote counts. But, hey! Who's counting? Not Dean, so smoothly to Kerry. So soft the wash of dissent, guided to fall silently on the rocky shores of electronic hardware. So virtual, Democracy. So long. "Follow me," said the Kerry Piper. To an election with No Exit. (Like 2000 -only Ohio)

If that's how things have been working, then it's time to revisit all those overlaps. Starting with the cast and crew on the stolen election gig.

By the way, if you still have doubts this is how things have been working, consider that the G8 bombing was really a triple-whammy. It also buried the issue of the Downing Stree memo -which had raised(not again!) so many hopes in the U.S. I hope you are getting the picture.

I know comics are easier, but this is the real world.

And I know we haven't gotten to answer whether Patrick Fitzgerald is for real. But we are now heading back to overlap-land -where the answer awaits us.

CIA Fakes Update

The 'CIA Fakes' article is getting a lot of traffic, but none from any of the popular forums. That means it's spreading by word of mouse -from person to person by email.

By the way, expect to read stuff about Fintan Dunne being a mossad agent, a maniac etc. etc. Well, we expected no less. It's how they usually react. Fake sites -fake outrage. Goes with the territory.

Back to business. Our article provides an outline of the big picture of CIA control and influence over the 'alternative' media on the Internet. We will be fleshing out the issue with further detail. And then some.

I'm sure there is a variety of views on the exact composition of the list. The important issue is that there is a large CIA fake media in place. These people are not dumb.

They knew the threat of the Internet. They knew that -well in advance of it's current popularity. So, they spent a lot of money. An awful lot. And they were waiting in place already when the numbers hit the net. They control the areas of high traffic. That's why the Net hasn't worried them. Up until now.

'Two Hardware Stores' as 9/11 Goes 'Nuts'

There are some overlapping Cointelpro-style Ops running among the fake 9/11 sites right now. A little background makes explaining this much easier.

Some people were startled that I recently questioned Alex Jones' coverage of the London bombs. But, it's not as if everything was sweetness and light among the 9/11 Fakes when I raised that issue.

Alex Jones had already been at it hammer and tongs with Victor and Lisa of WingTV. Their on-air and internet 'war' had been going on for months. WingTV have also been at war for months with Mike Ruppert, Jeff Rense and Jack Blood.

And WingTV themselves have been nicknamed 'wingnuts' by Dan Hopsicker -who, by the way, also criticizes Ruppert, Alex Jones and John Grey. Not to mention that Hopsicker is just as vocal about the LetsRoll911 'Pod People'.

As is Mike Rivero, who has also been dissing the 'Pod People' for months.

Phew! If I wanted to criticise anyboy I'd have to elbow my way into the scrum. No wonder people have pleaded for unity in the 9/11 movement. It's been a sh**storm for quite a while.

We need grassroots unity -not organizational unity.
Because there is a gameplan behind all these spats.

This should help illustrate. There's a very interesting story, from a guy called Brian who helped me out back in 2003 -when I was peering through a similar smokescreen on another issue:

TWO HARDWARE STORES

About 20 years ago I read what was said to be a true story written in the late 1960s or 70s. It took place in a borough of New York City. The author started the story from the time he was a boy, and talked about two hardware stores in his old neighbourhood.

The two stores were right next to each other, and both were run by single men. The two men had nothing in common except for hardware and their hatred for each other. If the first store had a special on hammers, the other would cut his hammer prices lower in an attempt to steal business.

If the second store cut his paint prices in half, the first store would cut them by two-thirds. The two owners would argue constantly, calling each other names, questioning each other s mental capacities and mocking the other s looks. They were vicious and unrelenting and their behaviour went on this way for 30-40 years.

The people in the neighbourhood tended to side with either one or the other, but not both. They'd shop at one hardware store exclusively because they didn t like the other owner. The customers themselves were defined by which store they shopped at.

The author mentioned that both men stayed bachelors their entire lives, and that each lived in apartments at the back of their stores. He said that at the time he never understood why they would live and work next door to someone that they hated so much.

Years later, one of the two owners passed away, and his store s contents were sold off. Within a couple of months, the second store owner retired, sold off his stock then moved away. When the two empty stores came up for sale, everyone in the neighbourhood learned the motive for the long-standing feud between the owners.

They found that between the apartments in the rear was a common door which linked the two dwelling units together. It had turned out that the hardware owners were not bitter enemies, but were actually brothers. The brothers had been playing the local customers off each other through their feud. It didn't matter which store sold more hammers or more paint, the two brothers still made their profit.

They did far better in business pretending to be two feuding competitors than if they ran it as one store, because they instilled fierce loyalties from their customers. The customers were not shopping simply on price, but on allegiance to which one they loved and which they hated. It didn't matter to the brothers which was loved and which was hated, only that the attention and business of others were focused upon them.

So.... the intel gameplan was to start with a reasonably sensible 9/11 movement. But they don't want a functioning 9/11 movement around forever.

The longer-term idea was to have the whole host of investigators and activist leaders take each other out, and thus run the movement into the ground.

If you remember back, Ruppert was to first to bite the dust, in a controversy over his promotion of the Peak Oil issue [a pro-nuke power psyop]. Now, that was no accident. Ruppert was/is disposable. You see, they all are.

The next pre-planned outing was John Gray of 911Truth.org -whom Daniel Hopsicker linked to funding by arms dealer, Adnan Kashoggi.

Once again -no accident. Build up 'heroes' of the 9/11 issue. Then later expose their deliberate flaws to cause their supporters to loose heart.

About a year ahead of the Kerry presidential bid 'defeat', they began a slow escalation of the process of undermining their collective credibility.

Also note when the official 9/11 report was released. This was timed so that activists would be busy with opposition to the Iraq War and the forthcoming Kerry presidential bid. But, the big idea was that the 'defeat' of Kerry would be the final blow to 9/11 activists already reeling from seeing their heroes' feet of clay and being befuddled by all the flame wars.

Furthermore, as soon as Kerry was 'defeated', left-wing activists were chasing their tails about the stolen election. So, by the time that was all over, the 9/11 issue was firmly on the back-burner.

Which is when the next phase kicked in. The mainstream takes it's first bite with feature articles 'debunking' the conspiracy theories. It's just a brief visit. They will be back.

Now the new plan is that those who started out making some sense on the 9/11 issue will do research which is more and more shoddy; will become more hysterical in tone; and will slowly turn into virtual carricatures of 'conspiracy nuts'. Make that 'actual' carricatures.

The occult [fave discreditation] will become the order of the day. Likewise satanic rituals. Homosexuality and child prostitution have already emerged as key themes [cf Jeff Gannon].

All this happens slowly. But already the whose thing is looking seedy. It's meant to. Such themes turn off the picket-fenced, middle-class.

Meanwhile, left-wing internet forums begin to try marginalize 'conspiracy thories' --using as evidence the rantings of the leading stooges. There are less people following the 9/11 issue -so this is easier now.

And... We are finally ready for the mainstream to move more sneeringly against the '9/11 Conspiracy Nuts'. Discovering the issue just as the planted stooges are at their most rabid. We are almost at that point.

The best defense is for 9/11 activists not to over-depend on 'movements' and take more of their own initiatives. Many have become experts in their own right on these issues. Acting individually, in loose networks of co-operation we can ride out the pre-arranged fall of the fake 9/11 movement and keep burning the flame of truth -for however long it takes.

The hidden benefit in all this is that we are all wiser. As that gangster, President Klutz once tried to say: "Fool me once...."

Yeah. We will be harder to fool again.

For the last three years we have been quietly investigating the cover-up of the 9/11 attacks. Ours has been a wide-ranging inquiry which paid special attention to those who claim to be already exposing the truth.

During this time we have interviewed many people with alternative views on who were the real perpetrators. All the while, we kept our own counsel. Much of the time we played it as if we were uncritically buying the lines being put out on various alternative media.

We have examined a great deal of evidence and methodically traced the methods and networks used to mislead us all. Now we present the first of our findings.

NO ROGUE GROUP

We published 'Wag The WTC' investigative articles on the 9/11 attacks --just 7 and 14 days after the event. We knew then, as did many others, that the real planners were not 'Al-Qaida'. That's the easy part. The challenge was to actually determine -rather than merely guess: who did carry out the attacks?

In uncovering those perpetrators, we felt that an investigation of the cover-up would be as much --if not more-- revealing than our examination of the attacks themselves.

Our analysis of the cover-up shows it requires, and has used, the official intelligence resources of more that one state. One of the ways of deflecting investigators from this grim reality has been to spin the facts to allege that a 'rogue group' within government carried out the attacks.

But we now state that the depth and multinational scope of the cover-up shows no mere rogue group was involved. The 9/11 attacks and cover-up have covert governmental support -deployed through an intelligence framework.

What will be the most startling aspect of our investigation for many people is the vast scale of governmental control of the 9/11 movement and alternative investigators and media. From websites to commentators; from analysts to political personages, this has given the cover-up team unprecedented control of alternative media perceptions.

In short, the government is running not only the 9/11 movement, but also controlling the 9/11 issue in the alternative media. It was relatively easy to do so, because they have controlled both mainstream and alternative media and politics increasingly over the last twenty years. This was just an extension of those operations.


INTERNET POLICE

Here's a quote from a recent article on the UK Guardian: "The Chinese government, employs an estimated 30,000 internet police, as part of a long-standing policy to control the web so that it can be used by businesses but not by political opponents." [Source]

Think the ideology and practice of the USA would be any different? Of course not. Just well cloaked under a veneer of free expression.

In the US, it's less a case of internet 'police' and more a question of Internet fake opposition, misdirection websites, front organizations, pseudo-activist groups and a host of professional blogging and web journalism liars, acting in concert to create an impenetrable fog.

These people are all over the Internet They are all over the 9/11 issue; all over the 'stolen' election of 2004; behind the psychological operations designed to inspire fear of earth changes, of global warming, of the Super-State and the so-called New World Order; all over the landscape of anti-corporate, anti-fascist expression on the Internet.

This army of information controllers is all over the 'free' information you are getting on the Internet. Time we opened our eyes to see them. It's not just the mainstream which is controlled. From the moment the Internet became prominent, a vast budget has been expended to control all the high-trafficked intersections on the information superhighway.


THE FAKE 'EXPOSING' OF 9/11

Many of these sites/assets were put in place long before 9/11. A key goal was to ensure that if some truth must come out, it will be a truth designed and controlled by intelligence agencies --with agency assets in a position to ensure misdirection and damage limitation.

To this end, an orgy of evidence [See Minority Report Part I] in the form of deliberately misleading 9/11 'clues', were designed into the 9/11 operation from the start --to give these assets prearranged talking points with which to fill their column inches and programming. This has served to confuse and confound.

All this activity rose to a crescendo around the time the Kerry presidential bid hit it's planned implosion in the 'stolen' election. [The stealing of which was carefully managed in the controlled alternative media as a psychological operation against the left.]

The hyping of the 9/11 issue up until the 'defeat' of Kerry was designed to max out activist interest in the issue, then bury it with the aid of general post-Kerry, left-wing political disillusion -against the backdrop of division in the 9/11 Movement itself.

Also part of a similar confounding exercise were the subsequent 9/11 Movement 'flame wars', as different assets attacked each other to undermine their collective credibility and disillusion ordinary grassroots 9/11 truth activists.


THE SMOKESCREEN

A persistent theme of the disinformation spread by these assets is to portray the machinations of this elite group acting through the CIA/NSA/ETC. as if they originate from somewhere other than the US security/intelligence apparatus.

Suspicion is directed instead onto the Israelis, the 'City of London', 'International Bankers', The Rockefellers, The Bildebergers, and most infamously, the ill-defined, so-called New World Order. Of course, some of these elements are complicit in certain events, but the aim is to downplay the U.S. establishment's guiding hand and the broad CFR/corporate support.

Some may be surprised by the range and scope of the misinformation sites we have detailed, and may even be disconsolate to see the sheer scale of the social and political control which their virtually unlimited budget can achieve. All we can say is.... deal with it. We had to. It's better than us all flailing around in ignorance. And it explains why men and women of good heart have been getting nowhere.


THE MEDIA AS PSYOP

This level of deception has been going on since the 1950's and 1960's at an accelerating rate. Following the psywar against civilians induced by the nuclear arms race 'crisis,' the subsequent JFK killing was indeed an assassination, but it was also at heart an extension of these 1950's nuke-scare psychological operations.

The killing of Kennedy was not necessary for political reasons -but it was a powerful tool for social control via psychological warfare. Kennedy was killed to deliberately drive the US population into a grief state which would hamper the development of political opposition.

This type of PsyOps directed at the civilian population was, and still is the modus operandi. By now, it has produced a range of operations as varied as AIDS, SARS, 9/11 and the G8/Live8 London bombing.


SUMMARY

Given the number of assets deployed in support of the 9/11 operation, and the operational requirements of the 9/11 attacks themselves, their origin is now clear. 9/11 was not carried out by some 'rogue group,' nor was it a fully official US Government-sanctioned operation.

But it was orchestrated by the highest levels of the US Military and military-industrial complex; on behalf of the national and international politicians, corporates, and moneyed interests. It had, and still has the full support of the US Military/intelligence apparatus -who control much of the alternative media and the 9/11 movement.

'Get Soldiers Out --This is Ridiculous'

Ohio families fed up with casualties in battalion

"Tell Bush to get our soldiers out of there now before any more of our soldiers die. This is getting to be ridiculous."

BROOK PARK, Ohio -- Combat in Iraq this week has taken a brutal toll on a Marine battalion based in this working-class town: Nineteen members from the unit were killed over two days.

The sorrow in Brook Park, a Cleveland suburb of 21,000 people, was painfully clear Wednesday among the line of customers sipping their morning coffee at a doughnut shop down the street from the headquarters of the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines. Nearly everyone at the counter said they knew someone who was connected to the battalion.

"You never know who it could be. It could be your best friend. It could be your husband -- it could be anyone from here," Eleanor Matelski, 69, said as she angrily tore up a paper cup that had held her coffee.

"Tell Bush to get our soldiers out of there now before any more of our soldiers die. This is getting to be ridiculous," she said.

Pat Wilsox, who said some of the reserves from the battalion frequent the doughnut shop he manages, threw her hand over her heart when she heard the news that the unit had suffered more losses.

"Oh my God," she said softly. "I'm all for protection but this is getting a little bit ridiculous."

20 Marines Killed in Iraq Attacks

Six marines died yesterday, and fourteen more were killed early today in Iraq, when their troop carrier struck a gigantic roadside bomb in the western town of Haditha.

The American command here provided few details of the attack, but said the marines had been riding in an amphibious troop carrier "during combat operations" on the southern end of the city when it struck the bomb.

There were indications that the roadside bomb used in the attack was quite large; the marines said that only one of the soldiers had been wounded, while 14 had been killed. American commanders say that in recent months the insurgents have been exploding bigger and more sophisticated bombs, some of which focus the blast in a single direction.

On Monday, guerrillas ambushed and killed a group of six marine snipers who were moving through the town on foot. The insurgent group, Ansar Al Sunna, claimed responsibility for that attack, and also claimed that it had beheaded one of the marines.
