CIA's Iraq Director Executed -Claims Resistance

The Squadrons of the Islamic Jihad on Thursday distributed a communiqué among journalists in Baghdad announcing that they had executed the director of American intelligence in Iraq, Dere Stouffer, the American Central Intelligence Agency's director in Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Squadrons of the Islamic Jihad displayed a picture of the intelligence director along with their communiqué, saying that he had been executed along with a number of other Americans. The statement also was accompanied by a number of photographs showing the deceased in meetings with a number of Iraqi puppet officials including Ahmad Chelebi and Hazim ash-Sha`lan.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam received a copy of the communiqué and noted that if the information contained in it is true, it would be the most important US official to be liquidated by the Iraqi Resistance since the American occupation of Baghdad two years ago.
