Downing St. Memo's Achillies Heel
From an AP Report:
"The eight memos — all labeled 'secret' or 'confidential' — were first obtained by British reporter Michael Smith, who has written about them in The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times.
"Smith told AP he protected the identity of the source he had obtained the documents from by typing copies of them on plain paper and destroying the originals."

What does the reference to Achilles Heel refer?
The fact that the documents are typed copies, rather than the originals, can be seen as the biggest argument to doubt their authenticity. In this case, "Achilles Heel" refers to a weakness in the history of these documents ... obtained through an anonymous source and then the originals were subsequently destroyed ... very shaky ground to be walking on in today’s info/propaganda wars!
That neither Bush nor Blair deny them.... building up a head of steam in the opposition.... so that a CBS style slaying of Conners can take place. Seems possible, and certainly NOT below Bush.
Good point anon 8:43 PM. All seekers of factual information should take the Dan Rather affair to heart. With the Rove's of the world in control, truth is relative ... and anonymous sources of truth, could be Rove's relatives!
