Media Reports 'Wag The Dog' Raid in Iraq

About that raid in Iraq which killed 80, 82, 84, or 85 'insurgents' (The Islamic Army of Tikrit says only 11 died). Well, the whole thing now looks like a massive 'wag the dog' exaggeration:
"Army spokesman Richard Goldenberg helps clear up the confusion for the Post today: "I would tell you that somewhere between 11 and 80 lies an accurate number," he said, helpfully."
As Dane Baker comments:
"If we're honest, questions like these would lead to larger, more troubling ones about the results of relying only on official sources, not to mention the true nature of the Iraqi insurgency and American successes and failures in the country."
Is that a hint Dane?
