Pentagon spokesmen would not explain the circumstances surrounding the death of Navy Cmdr. Adrian Basil Szwec.

Szwec's death was still under investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, a Navy spokeswoman said. It took the Navy 10 months to make the announcement because the Armed Forces Medical Examiner only recently categorized his death as connected to the war on terror
